Ok well pretty much I need some techniques on how to reality check myself in dreams!!! I'm in a intense cool dream with people that Id like to be in..and I just want to know that im in a dream. ive done it b4 and want to stay in it!!
please im desperatly in need of help
all techniques are welcomed!
Jump. If you are dreaming, you will probably float, or stay in the air longer.
Check your hands. If you are dreming, you may have a different amount of fingers.
Time. Look at the time. Look away and look again. If the time dramatically changes, you guessed it...dreaming....or someone is playing a prank on you.

the easiest and quickest way to reality check is to block your nose by pinching it with your finger and try to breath through your nose, if it works hello lucid dream if it doesnt, you look like a idiot :PQuote:

My favourite reality check is the nose pinching one. In fact, I had a nap today from 9:30am-12:00pm and I ended up doing the nose-pinch reality check, and it gave me my second lucid dream! It was awesome!
A few months ago, I did the reality check where I looked at my hand and counted my fingers. Unfortunately, I did that once in a dream but nothing seemed different, so I never became lucid.
Once you find out what reality check is right for you, practice is as much as you can, especially when something seems strange or frightening. Good luck!
okay when I am dreaming (which i barely ever remember) I cant even do reality checks, because I have no control of what I do. what should I do?
Do them throughout the day without thinking about it. It may take a while. Eventually, you might do one in a dream for the heck of it. I'm with ya too, I haven't have a lucid dream or done a reality check in my dream.
Well, from what I get from other DILD threads is not so much you doing a reality check, but something like realizing its a dream. For example, noticing that all your friends have horns or that you can't run, not so much looking for the impossible.Quote:

Rubbing your hands is good for stabalizing your dream.
Spinning can be useful sometimes mostly it teleports you though.
Doing reality checks such as finger through palm or sqeezing your nose and blowing are good.
You can also shout out "increase clarity".

okay so far i have only had 1 LD, and my RC was pinching my arm. No matter how hard I pinched, it didnt hurt. i just felt this numby feeling.
You know, whats cool about reality checks from my own experience? Well. I never had to use them in my real life. {And i dont plan to until necessary}. But when the awareness rises, they emerge from themselves. Often it is enough to have one or two, just to make sure you are lucid.
How does your lucidity feel like. Did you sense when it approached, how was the feeling, how did you applied the reality check? Let us know about your experiments and exploration.
Well when I had my Lucid last night.. your right the awareness just sort of ris on me and just emerged. I guess that was a big hint to put myself into check and to know that Im in a dream and that Im quite aware of my surroundings. Its not like I was in a dream doing random stuff and it seemed like it was all normal. ( usually when that happens I have know idea how to give myself a reality check thats why I posted this particular thread) But in the LD i had the beginning of the dream was almost the start of the Lucid.. so i dont wanna call it a coincedence because before i go to bed when im laying I get into a meditate concentration relax mode and it just takes me from there.
Ive tryed opening eyes then closing them eveyr five seconds. That gives me SP I can attain that pretty well, but never gained a LD from it although I was close one night when I was hearing so many different sounds as if i was inthe jungle and Idk that was a weird experience but yea man. The reality checks, honestly I wouldnt know when to do them unless I forsure knew I was in a controlled state in my dream and thats what happened last night the awareness came on me and the whole LD from then on was a big reality check really.
omg, tried hard to find? you can search on google for "rc lucid dreaming" or reality check lucid dreaming or something like that and you will get up some examples. my favorite is the hand RC. just look at the hand, believe my. you will know if you're dreaming with this one. ;)
I pinch myself in the arm and pinch my nose and then try breathing through it. You should do at least two reality checks imo. I've had dreams where I've felt pain when pinching myself (?). It's like the dream simulated pain or something. Of course because of that I didn't get lucid. :( The chance is two reality checks "working" in a dream shouldn't be possible, I think.
i know. i think you can feel pain in dreams to so don'y use the pinch arm RC. i use to do the look at the hand RC, and then pinch nose, and then try to put my index finger throw the palm of the other hand in a nice 3 RC combo so be sure i'm not dreaming. i have got to many dreams where i recalled that the RC hasn't worked. at one of the RC i already knew i was dreaming so i got angry at my hand when looking at it and it got 5 fingers and so on. :PQuote:

Jumping isn't consistent for me, and neither is pinching.
Other good ones though:
- Try remember what you ate last. Is it wierd? Can't remember? Bonus = you don't get to look like an idiot.
- Put your finger through your hand. If it works, you're probably dreaming
Also, I suggest you always do at least 2 together
Because everyone has different results from them. Sometimes they don't work for some people, so find the ones that work for you ;)
