Newbie Advice Please
Hi there!
A year or so ago i had a lucid dream which freaked me out. I looked it up on the tinter-web and had another a few months later. This time it was fine since i knew what was going on.
Anyhow, my girlfriend and I are interested so we bought a book and i started taking a basic dream journal.
Last night
Ok so anyway last night i was sat by a window in my dream and noticed there were clouds round all the buildings but not in the air. I skydive as a hobby and my thought in the dream was "that can't be right because if i fell through them i'd hit the building".
At that point i because lucid.
I walked around for a bit but felt in a rush to do things in case i woke up. I was in a hotel and looked into the corridoor but was worried that if i run around doing stupid stuff and it isn't a dream i'm going to be in trouble.
So i went back to the window to double check and saw some wierd flying things. Maybe a space ship or something and then thought yeah i'm deffo dreaming now!
So proceeded to try and do stuff but i kept feeling rushed like i only had 30 seconds to do everything from hover, make people appear etc.
Aot long after i awoke. :?

The point of this post is therefore to say Hi! and also to see if anyone has any very basic top 5 tips to becoming and remaining lucid.
Thanks!
Tim

Welcome to Dreamviews, Tim!
Congratulations on your lucid dream - it sounds like you had great control. The rushed, excited feeling you get is usually what ends the dream. Next time, try to calm yourself before you do anything. We also have a thread about stabilizing dreams (staying lucid).
You may also want to read the tutorials for help on becoming lucid.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. :)

Hey welcome to the forum - really just relaxing is a good technique to stay lucid, and focus on your environment etc will help out loads. But even the most experienced lucid dreamers have short lucid dreams every now and again, so keep hanging in there :)
If you have any questions, shout :)
