I don't know, but I'm pretty sure something can't be unusual and normal.
It's not exactly abnormal, but I don't know of any fancy word for it besides just 'shifting the dream scene' or 'changing the scene' or 'changing the dream'
Some people do it by spinning or walking through mirrors. Others just do it.
It's a useful dream ability, and is just an extension of dream control :)
*nod* I wouldn't call it unusual... it's definitely a cool ability to have... I am sure that it has or will come in handy for you...
different people seem to have different dream skills that come naturally to them... and we all have the ability to share and practice \ learn these skills from other people....
when you shift scenes is there any sort of technique that you use; is it thought driven, motion activated, etc?
btw welcome to the forums!!
MARK75 - what i meant was i think its unusual, coz my fmaily can't do that, im just asking if its normal to you guys...
Are you saying that the other people in your family lucid dream on a regular basis?
That's already unusual to have so many family members doing it .. lol
And yes, I can change the dream scene with a bit of effort
Hi I'm Mandy. I have been doing this since i was little. If i had a bad dream i would become lucid and "switch the channel". I'm not sure if this makes sense but it was like i had a controller if i didn't want to deal with a nightmare i would change to a better dream like flying. I could also manipulate the dream to change what was happening in that dream without changing it. aka turning monster into kitten.
Welcome Mandy. I was the same, but I remember that in my first lucid nightmare I didn't know I could change it - so I lay down and waited to die :P
I learned to fight back soon after that
I didnt know that was an ability I just kinda thought it was natural. I do it all the time, in fact one night I had about 5 different dreams and they kept shifting between each other lolx, it was actually confusing. But I cant say I've shifted from a nightmare cuz frankly I never have nightmares and never had one in my life.
Yes. It's a somewhat advanced form of dream control. It requires alot of belief, and if you can do it successfully, you are well on your way to becoming quite good at Lucid Dreaming.
It's basically just scene change, but on a dream level.
Thats cool, I have alot to learn about dreams it seems so I'm glad I found this site. I dream constantly so I have gained alot of control but normally my dreams blur if its conflicting with my emotions. Lately I've tried training my mind into a more physcic nature so I'm letting the dreams flow more naturally.
