What do you wear when dream walking?

When you are in a dream where other people (or beings) can see you, what do they see you wearing, if anything?

That is, if you dream while asleep in your green pajamas, or jeans & t-shirt or a latex catsuit or whatever else, and you meet someone who is also dreaming, do they see you wearing that stuff or do they see what their mind creates?

I am confused novice (and very naive, no doubt). Thanks

Usually just a pair of pants and shirt, unless it's a false awakening in which case I'm naked

First off, Welcome to the Board Ataraxia!! there are many great sources of knowlege and friendly helpful people to be found here!! Feel free to poke around and ask as many questions as you like, but be sure to search first

Well.... I am not sure really. This questions has left me with many pondering thoughts.

I usually don't see myself when I am dreaming therefor I don't know what others will see, and I don't usually look down at my body.

Now that I think about I suppose I should be more aware of what I am wearing while in my dreams because the last thing I would want is to be running around nekkid!!
"“Evil? Good? These are merely words. In the eyes of the universe neither of those exist. There are only three elements, that act as a base for all that you see around. There is Light. There is Dark. And there is the balance between those two. Good and Evil are concepts, used to deny oneself from serving the balance. By serving, you participate in the great creation."

That has sort of been my problem, too. I suppose it is very difficult to look at yourself in a dream-- perhaps even more so than the challenge of looking at just your hands.

I do not have enough skill to do this kind of thing yet. I was wondering if anyone else has?

When dream walking, what clothing do the other people you meet in your dream see you wearing (if anything)? Do they see what you happen to be wearing in RL at the moment you are dreaming it or is it something that either you or they create in their own minds?

I am wearing whatever fits the location. Even if I don't own a set of those clothes in real life.

      welcome aboard!

ive never seen myself or what i was wearing in a dream, but ooooooh wouldnt it be sweet if i was wearing a purple zoot suit?

when you have your First LD, maybe try looking at yourself in a mirror to see what you have on.

Welcome to both rubee01 and Ataraxia!

I've never seen myself in a lucid dream either, so I can't answer the question. The only time I did see myself was in a reflective surface, but it was so contorted I couldn't make out what I was wearing.

      Welcome, rubee01 and Ataraxia!

To answer the question of clothing...

I have had quite a few experiences with noticing what I was wearing in dreams. I went through a period where I tried to check what I was wearing when I would first become lucid. Sometimes it was something that I own. I had a brown shirt and a red shirt that I like each show up twice. But other times they were nothing that I have in real life. I have looked in a mirror a few times and have been wearing very strange looking things. So it has really varied for me.

You know I have never noticed what I wear in my dreams. I think once I were a leather jacket but that was it. Perhaps I just run around naked?

It would seem this is a rather perplexing question!

What do you wear in your dreams?

Since no one (so far) has seen themselves in dreams, would it be reasonable to ask one of the other dream characters what you are wearing at the moment?

What determines what you are wearing in a dream?

      Welcome to Dream Views.

I used to notice what I wore a lot in dreams. Don't notice so much anymore unless I'm looking in a mirror or uncomfortable in my clothing.

I used to be dressed much like I normally do, in all out black with sunglasses. I don't think the sunglasses even figure into my dreams anymore.

      Thanks for replying!
What decided what you wore? Was it a conscious decision on your part (e.g. "I think I'll wear my black jeans, blue T-shirt with green stripes and my hiking boots in this dream...") or mostly a matter of how you see yourself usually?

      What decides it?

Why can't the pretty girls lie and say that they're naked in there dreams?

This leads me to the new thought. I have seen this mentioned elsewhere, and have wondered. To what extent, if at all, are the people in my dreams aware of the fact that they are being dreamt about? On occasion, a person in a dream has later, in real life, made a comment that led me to believe that there may have been some thread of communication. (How's that for a vague statement?) I have never had the guts to raise the question.

It is interesting that no one really seems to be really aware of their own clothing in a dream, in fact very little self awareness of any kind. The focus seems to be only on external surroundings. Wonder why.

Well, there actually was a period of time last year where I was topless in an awfully lot of dreams. But it hasn't happened for a while.

I would say, for the most part, they aren't aware. There are a lot of us here that have lots of dreams about other DreamViews members. And those are always fun to read and share.

Well most of my dreams I don't even think to see what I'm wearing, but I have seen them several times anyways. One time I was waering a red shirt that I actually own, one time I was wearing my black/white dress that I also own. Another time I wore a white dress that I have never seen, and the last time I wore only underclothes.

Now that I recall, Sometimes I"m not even myself in a dream. Sometimes I'll have a third person shot, or just a revolving shot of the person I've been "hosted" as foresay, and it's not even me. Weird.

Yay, I think I remember reading some of those

Other DV members in my dreams are usually invisible. I can feel them and hear them, but not see them. Otherwise they are wearing what they've posted pictures of themselves in.

I don't generally pay attention to what I'm wearing but as a rule of thumb:

Non-lucids: Clothes appropriate to the scene
Lucids: My pyjamas (a white t-shirt and blue checked trousers)

It makes sense that in a dream you were the same clothes as when you are asleep. Well it does to me anyway.

What the subconscious does for most of your dream experience, is just create thing based on what the you expect it to be. So... if the subconscious is used to seeing certain clothing styles, or something like that... it will make that appear.

The mind is a wonderful thing, you'll see that it will do wonders during the dream world.
