Strange wakeup problems
I've had no trouble achieving mild lucidity. I can do it without following any of the steps you guys provide, actually. It's just that, whenever I realize I'm dreaming, even if nobody's there at the time, someone suddenly appears out of nowhere and cries on my shoulder until I wake up. I have absolutely no idea what this means, but it happens every time I try to lucid dream. Ideas, anyone?

Well, welcome to the forums Cheesy!!
Perhaps requesting that the DC not get so close to you. Or instead of just letting the DC cry on your shoulder try finding another DC that might be able to assist it.
I've not experienced anything like that, but I can see how an intense interaction like that would something that would draw you out of a lucid state.
If you're looking for more of an interpretation you can check the dream interpretation forum. Perhaps if you posted up more details about said dreams, someone there can give better feedback of what it may mean. There are some great people in that forum that should be able to offer some insight.
again welcome!! :)

Welcome to dreamviews cheesy
You may want to check out the tutorial section for some help, or ask us anything else you need.
Next time a dc cries on your shoulder just push them off, thats the easiest thing that I could think of, then just do all the other stuff you want to do.

It seems like just a mild stage of LD, since I can never work up the willpower to control my own actions in the dream. And said lucid dreams only seem to happen right near the end of my REM period, where I'm beginning to wake up, so within a few seconds of the crying beginning, I wake back up.
Also, there's never any reason for the crying, as far as I can ascertain. It's just crying.
Maybe I should post this on the interpretations forums. It's happened again a lot.
