Hey Everyone, I did it
It's funny because although I have very good dream recall, I am a really good sleeper but I wanted to try so I programed before I went to bed and then I drank some coffee and soda quite late for me. The funny thing is that I was awoken when my dog got out and my husband was yelling at him to get him back.
When I came back and started to fall asleep thats when it happened. I was in this wintery mountain scene driving my car. Then I decided to get out. So I did. I thought well I might as well try to fly and I did. It was great

It seems like the waking up and going back to bed was the trick for you(called WBTB).
The coffee would have made you sleep lighter, which might have helped, but isn't good for the quality of sleep (unless you're like some of the seriously addicted people who NEED coffee before bed :)
Anyway, congrats. Flying's great in LD's isn't it?

Did you actually know you were dreaming? If you did then it was a lucid, either way you had control so congrats on that!

Sounds like a great dream. I use the Wake Back to Bed method a lot to get my lucid dreams. Sounds like that may be a good method for you to try again.
And I also love flying dreams. I fly in nearly all my LDs.
