My wife claims that this happens to her for most of her dreams.
And I've even had 3rd persion 'movie' lucid dreams.
It's perfectly normal, but personally I find it very irritating.
One trick is to go into one of the characters bodies and 'inhabit it' (possess it?)
Imagine it locking into place, because it can be tricky to stay there sometimes.
This is a normal thing to happen. In most of my dreams I see from both a first person and third person view. I like the third person view becuase it makes you realize that the dream world is your mind, and your body is just a part of that. If you want to see from first person you could always tell yourself that you can be both at the same time. Try to tap into your body's eyes.
I dream in third-person often.. I think it has its benefits as well..
I led a fairly sheltered life until i hit my mid-teens so I watched loads of movies to pass the time and of course my imagination put me in many of those movies during my day-dreams.. I think this may be a contributor to my third-person dreaming.. Just looks more natural in my head for some scenes I guess..
I never paid any mind to it, I suppose mine take place in both, depending. Most are 1st P though.

Since i haven't had a LD yet i guess in time i will experience that.

I know what you mean i what a lot of movies too ;)
i had a third person view of me falling on a sharp rock on my back. Not nice lol.
i get alot of those 3rd person view dreams... it's really annoying.
anyone know how to avoid 3rd person if it happens to you?
My friend says most of his "few"(sounds like he only remember a few in his life, that sucks, but then doesn't care about dreaming...) dream were third-person. I only remember 1-2 of them out of my 3-6 a night. So I have a lot of dreams. In fact, the only third-person view dream I remember was..
I was in first-person, as usual. I died and saw myself put into a coffin and buried from third-person view. Wierd dream.

Most of my dreams that I can recall are like this.
Yes, I do have 3rd person dreams and I absolutely HATE them. It's usually hard for me to go back to 1st person in my dreams even in LDs, so I usually end up stuck like that until I wake up. :p
My unlucidated dreams usually twist between first person and a view of some other place. That's usually how I know I'm dreaming, it doesn't really tend to happen in real life.
