Some random newb ranting and questions!

Hi. I've been trying lucid dreaming since I joined this forum. Only about 4 I can remember so far, but.. Anyways. I have some random questions.. If anyones got answers to any of the below, feel free to answer! opinions also appreciated. :)

First off.. My first W.I.L.D!! Alright! I used that item method, where you focus on an object..(using this magnetic rock thing I used to have just sitting on my dresser, for anyone who is curious) Anyways. I really like it, I like it a lot more than the normal LDs because I find I have more time, with DILDs- when I realize I'm dreaming its usually half way through a dream, or really close to the time I have to wake up. Anyways. So this is what happened. I closed my eyes, was repeating things, telling myself things about what the LD would be like, etc. Then I gave up after a while. So then I opened my eyes. and it was the craziest thing, the feeling of all the limbs being numb (like when you start to fall asleep) was still there! My dream eyes must have been closed or something!! I was so excited! I opened my eyes right into the dream! Anyway, throughout the short LD, my limbs constantly felt numb and it kind of felt weird to feel both my "dream" limbs and my real limbs at the same time.. Is there anyway to get rid of that "asleep" feeling in the limbs?

Sorry about that big paragraph. Anyway. Next.. What do I do if I want to stop dreaming? Is there anyway I can end a dream without waking up and going back to sleep? Probably not. Maybe I'm just being weird.

Something else, it only happened during my first LD and one other time, but. I think both my real eyes and my "dream" eyes were open at the same time! It was very strange, I could see my ceiling out of the corner of my eyes, yet around the center of my vision I could still see my dream.. Is this what you call an "unstable" dream? Is there anyway special way to close my real eyes and just keep my dream eyes open? I tried but I woke myself up :(

Congratulations! seems you've taken easily to lucid dreaming.

The issues you mention seem to be dream control issues...things that improve with experience.

I;ve felt my body and dream body simultaneously. I put it down to simply being close to waking up/sleeping lightly. However, this is the sort of thing liable to change everytime. Sometimes you may feel your body, other times not. Im not sure you can change this?

To stop dreaming...without waking up? Why would you want to!?
try
- spinning fast with your eyes shut.
- going to sleep IN the dream
those are my best ideas.

As for that eyes thing....Id say once again you were just sleeping slighty. Maybe you should try to stabilise the dream. These sorts of techniques my help 'hold you in the dream' more.

-inspect/feel your hands upon becoming Lucid. Really investigate them up close. Concentrate on the look and feel.
-dont dive into exciting activites STRAIGHT AWAY
-do reality checks even after you know you are dreaming

If I want to stop the dream, like if I have little control and it's turning bad, I close my eyes until it stops. The other thing I guess you could do is freeze time. I've done that a few times. Quite cool to freeze time and wander around.

You can give suggestion a try. Simply tell yourself the feeling will be gone.

Next.. What do I do if I want to stop dreaming?
In a lucid dream, usually I just tell myself to wake up and I do.

Is there anyway I can end a dream without waking up and going back to sleep?
I think the dream spinning, as mentioned previously, is supposed to help change a dream scene.

Is there anyway special way to close my real eyes and just keep my dream eyes open?
I have problems with my eyes in lucid dreams too. I read somewhere that we have to realize that we don't actually use our eyes in dreams. There is no need to have to open them. All we should have to do is want to see and we will see. It's a hard thing to remember in dream when someone like me has a habit of opening my eyes at the start of a WILD.
