SP questions.

I have been wanting to attempt a WILD, but I am a little worried about SP, although i have been getting more curious and less worried lately, but i would like some questions answered before i go and try to WILD :)

What is the worst scenario of SP?

What is the most common scenario of SP?

Does SP cause REM to occur earlier or something similar to cause you to enter a dream?

How long does SP last for?

Thanks in advance for any answers, it should help to clear alot of my worries if i know a little more about it :)

I'm no expect on SP, as I've never managed to get it myself (while conscious).
But I've read a fair bit about it, so may be of some help. Someone will correct me if I get anything wrong :P

You get a little scared from seeing something that isn't real, then you remember its not real and just ignore it.
What is the most common scenario of SP?
I'm not sure, but I often hear about a heaviness in the chest, racing heart, and of course not being able to move :P

You don't feel, see or hear anything scary. Or you see, hear or feel something entertaining.

No, its just your body going to sleep. To WILD you need to do it when you will enter an REM period. This is why WILDing first thing when you go to bed is very very hard, because you don't enter REM straight away. You need to sleep a few hours first before waking up and then attempting to WILD.
You enter SP every time you go to sleep, otherwise we'd probably act out our dreams. ie. Sleepwalk. Its nothing special. You're just not normally conscious during it.
How long does SP last for?
Until you wake up. Thats either almost straight away if you fight it, or hours later when you wake up naturally. Although you will either enter a dream consciously or fall asleep probably within minutes of feeling SP. So you won't be aware of it for long. But remember, it happens every time you sleep and always has, so its nothing to be worried about.

SP doesn't cause REM to do anything. It happens every night. It's the retention of awareness through SP that allows one to enter into a lucid dream directly, and presumably REM as well.

SP technically lasts throughout your sleep as it's purpose appears to be to prevent us from beating the crap out of ourselves or others as we act out our dreams. The sensations that we experience when we remain aware through SP can easily last several minutes, becoming calmer and calmer..

Overall, I would say don't be too worried about experiencing SP. The worst manifestations usually occur when one awakens from sleep, and the body is "out of synch" with sleep paralysis not yet over (and with experience, even these aren't that bad!). In the context of a WILD, the sounds, sensations, and visuals are much more to be expected, and if you know to expect them, they're not that disturbing. Consider them a "ride".

Let me answer your questions my way before reading others posts so that I may offer you my and only my opinion. Before reading further, know the answers may only frighten you further, I advise you don't go further unless your trying to just have enough knowledge of it.

The worst for me is my heart racing, this has only happened once or twice. None of it is real, know this.

What is the most common scenario of SP?

Tingle through the body, and a feeling of floating or twirling from the body.

What is the best scenario of SP?

No effects at all, or tingly.

Depends on the person I was told.

How long does SP last for?

Someone told me it ranges from 10 seconds to 10 minutes. Mine usually last ehh, 10-20 seconds.

As I expected, everything i had heard about SP were the worst scenarios, so everything I know now is all pretty good :D

I will probbably try a WILD then, partly just to try SP because, as I said, i am getting curious, but also if WILD works well for me that would be great.
