No! You are not the only one that enjoys sex in dreams, by any means. Believe u me!!!!

Brand new to the forum. Love it! I've been looking for a good active forum for awhile now.

Anyway, I had a question about lucid dreaming and sex and I was hoping to get a little insight.

About two nights ago, I became lucid in my dream for the first time in about five months. Lucidity is something I barely achieved for the first time about a year ago. Since then, I've had maybe four lucid dreams - some more intense than others. This particular one is the best one I've had so far.

But for some reason, even though I know I'm dreaming and can do whatever I want, my mind always turns to sex and seeking out a sexual encounter with somebody. I don't really get this. It's almost like I'm not lucid. Like my cursed female libido is out of control.

Does anybody have any info on this or is this typical for a lot of people? I want to get to the point where I can become lucid and decide, "Eh, I'll have sex with my boyfriend when I wake up. How about going to the moon instead?"

Is this perhaps because I'm new to lucid dreaming? I've heard that most people opt to fly when they become lucid. Maybe this is just my "default lucid action" if you know what I mean?

If I were you, I would accept it and go with it. Like someone else in this thread mentioned, it will probably subside. But why would u want it to? I was like you a long time ago and by and by things died down. Now I wish that those dreams would come more often. I believe that u just have a strong sex drive and it shows in your subconscious . Nothing wrong with that! I envy you.

The reason you are doing this is becuse the sexual earge within a human is very strong and to new lucid dreamers, a sexual dream will most likley be the subject, this happend to me as well for the first few tries.

Simply try to incorporate other things with the sex.

i think you just need to embed in your mind your intent NOT TO HAVE SEX
pound it into to your mind in whatever way you can

and be sure when the opportunity comes again in your next lucid dream, just resist! and go for a walk instead and see where the dream takes you

Of course we have sex in our dreams! Hey, gals gotta think about sex sometime, too. This isn't a guys-only activity. Then it wouldn't be call sex. Heh heh.

That means a lot of people are interested in having sex in their lucid dreams. That makes people loose their lucidity and get frustrated and quit having lucid dreams. So if you're having lucid sex I'm going to sick her on you:

Trust me, fighting that will be more exciting than your lucid sex.

Oh, that'll be easy... spawn an army of DC's with futuristic military implements, materialize a lawn chair and a soda, and watch the fun.

Well I assume sex is one of the primary reasons people attempt lucid dreaming - no chance of pregnancy or an STD, hooray .

      hey Kaeli a
I'm 23m and have been lucid dreaming since I was about 12, I'm lucky in that I get a lucid dream about every other night, usually a spree of 4 or 5 in those nights.

I think that the advice posted is really good! But you should try supplementing it with some waking practice. I struggled hardcore with irresistable sexual urges in LD's when i was about 19, and found that it was a symptom of my waking life, not a problem of discipline in my dreams.

Try exploring your feelings and urges about sex in your waking life, and if you may be suppressed, overly horny etc... Cuz you know in your dreams that you're able to release pent up feelings and sometimes discover something about them.

Another caution I would make is to never think that what you do in Lucid Dreams are inconsequential. I have a LD friend who decided to go on a "killing spree" like in Grand Theft Auto with rocket launchers and aoutomatic weapons, and he is still pretty traumatized by it. His lucids have been much less frequent and he's experiencing some bad nightmares now becasue of it.

Remember that the dreamworld is a gift! Respect it and explore it! Dont be careless!
      Write back

Seems like a good idea at the time but I always hate myself in the morning.
How ironic that too much sex is ruining my dream world.

This happens to me every time. Every lucid dream is like that for me (except for one where I was only lucid mere seconds before waking up). I've only had about 3 lucid dreams (I actually think it was 4), but still. During one lucid dream a few nights ago, I realized after I did my thing, I would wake up. I was disappointed and angry with myself. I indeed woke up, but fell asleep again and found myself in the same dream. Thankfully, it was the weekend. So I could just continue sleeping. But oddly enough, I simply continued with the sexual encounters. I almost woke up a few times but when I felt myself waking up, I just looked at my feet and started breathing slowly. I started saying, "No Tara, don't wake up. Stay asleep. Breath slowly. Stay calm." It worked and I stayed lucid. Then another time everything started going black and eventually I was consciously aware of being in bed and awake, but I slowly "pulled" my conscious back into the dream. It happened again a few other times.
So it was like one big lucid dream put into four sections. I was fairly happy with what had happened during the dream and didn't mind the fact that I had sort of wasted a long lucid dream with just sex.
Now I regret it though because ever since that dream, my dream recall has gone way down the drain. In the past week or so, I've remembered about five seconds of one single dream. Strange.
