Greetings and thanks to anyone who replies in advance.
I've been trying to achieve lucidity for awhile and sometimes, especially after having a non-lucid dream. I'll have one, almost entirely where I am in front of a mirror and I'll repeat to myself that I am dreaming and this is lucid, but I honestly don't ever feel lucid or have very much control at all.
Is this actually becoming lucid or is it just me dreaming that I am trying to become lucid?
Yes, this is considered being lucid, control will come with experience.
Yeah, its lucid. If your in the dream, and saying your dreaming, and believing that you are, then you are in lucid. Good job! And welcome to DV. Control is not part of being lucid, but it is an added benifit. You dont have to have control to be Lucid. But, if you want control, then practice makes perfect.
Welcome to the forum - next time you find yourself in this situation try to slowly poke your finger through the mirror, this should confirm that you are in fact dreaming :)

^^That's a good idea. Also, having a task in mind to perform may help you focus and get something accomplished, so you feel more like your dream is a real lucid. You need to think about the task a lot while you are awake, so you will remember it as soon as you become lucid.
