stopped by fear

i have a problem that when i can feel im close to becoming lucid and getting more and more controll i suddenly feel a huge sense of fear, i dont even know what of, i just become over come by fear and wake up, any help would be greatly appreciated

I think during the day you should think a lot about how nothing in a dream can hurt you. You will eventually remember that and logic will overcome the fear. It's hard to think straight in dreams, but eventually, if you think about it often enough while you are awake, it will soak in. :)

maybe this is your subconcious' way of trying to take control again. Sometimes people have DC's that make them lose lucidity somehow, or they have a feeling that flying is possible and that something more important is going on than becoming lucid(I kick myself every time this happens)

I had another idea in my head, but I lost it :? I'll edit this post if I remember it.
