Hello
My name is Mihajlo and I am currently studying Design in Wellington, New Zealand.
I am currently taking a paper in Critical Thinking.
We basically do...

1. research into design
2. research through design
3. research for design.

We investigate practical, theoretical, empirical, historical and formal design issues through the potentials we find.
At the moment I am exploring “How dose an individual differ the real from the unreal?
More precisely "Lucid Dreams"

And I need your help; Part of this projects requirements is that we do abstract experiments,
And I’m having a hard time thinking of ways to experiment with my potential, one way I would like to explore it is by capturing the image in the brain at the moment of realization you are dreaming.

So what I am asking of the members of this great forum is next time you wake up from any sort of dream, is to draw what you feel/remember/see/want/need etc either on paper or Photoshop or any sort of media, as long as an image is expressed. Remember this can be very abstract and does not need to make sense; I am at a very early stage of my research. And if you could please post the images here or e-mail them to me directly I would greatly appreciate it. I understand most people don’t have time for this and I’m not sure if this is the right forum to post this so I would also appreciate if someone could point me in a direction of a more appropriate forum for this type of thing.

Please forgive me If something similar has been posted or if this is not allowed, Just let me know.

That sounds very interesting... I'll give that a shot - I don't want to sound like I'm tooting my own horn but I might be a little more qualified at Photoshop than the average person, possibly even on this forum.

I'll see if I can find the time... I think I know what I want to draw. I have, and will probably use Adobe Illustrator, what kind of file format would you like?

If you have to have them by tomorrow, then I can't do it. I've been trying but I've been having bad Dream Recall lately. I really sorry, but if you like I can keep trying; or is tomorrow the final deadline?

No its fine, this research will be going on for another month or so, where I'll be breaking down certain aspects of a lucid dream. I just need one or two by tomorrow to present to my professors as to show them what sort of research I'm conducting.

It's fine If you can't produce one at the moment but yes I would definitely appreciate if you could keep trying

Hi,
Many people here have good dream recall, it's quite necessary if you want to fully remember your Lucid Dreams. So how do you chose the correct image, if you remember a whole movie?

Choose an image that had the most "effect" on you, or try and express an image which sort of shows all the bits most important to you. remember these images can be very very abstract. Let your creative sides come out

And here is the brief description of the dream:

I am a nuclear scientist who has detonated a very large nuclear blast. There is a country who wants to do a deal with me for my schematics for the missile and I made plans to meet them secretly during a orchestral concert. There were to be two representatives, one playing violin and one in the choir. I secretly had plans to kill the representatives from the country, but my gun jammed when I tried to fire and I went insane from the anger.

I hope this helps with your research! I'll keep trying to draw some dreams.

And sorry for the bad drawing. I'm no artist!

Here's a drawing I did a year or so back. It's an interpretation of a dream character who appeared to me fairly regularly. He was a horrible, nightmarish creature, and I always felt deep fear when he appeared. These were non-lucid nightmares.

Thanks bud, it's a fairly old drawing of mine, so it might not be applicable to his study. We'll find out when he returns!

Wow That's a great drawing Ryan thank you, and yes it does fit into my research, basically any image that's personally drawn by the dreamer, so this could be an extremely detailed piece or just a red box on page.
