I Did It!!! (Sort Of)
I've been trying to lucid dream for a few weeks & I finally did it last night! I was at work & I realized I hadn't even gotten ready for the day or anything yet, so I looked down at my hands (that's the main RC I always do) and they were all blury!! Then I did what I've been warned not to do- I got really excited and felt myself start to wake up... It sucked.
So I woke up, and I couldn't move for a while.. it felt like some one was sitting on top of me. It was kind of scary but it only lasted about ten seconds.
I'm going to try to do it again tonight but stay calm this time so I can actually do stuff.
Has anyone else done this? And do you have any tips on how to stay lucid??

Congrats on your lucid! :boogie:
To prolong the dream, try to touch/feel/sense your surroundings. Run your hands along the grass/carpet, rub your hands, look around and drink in every detail with your eyes.... That sort of thing!

Congrats! :D Mes Tarrant gives good advice. It also sounds like you woke up to sleep paralysis. That can happen when you wake up unexpectidly from a (lucid) dream. I've been there and done that. :P
And don't worry about excitement, with a few more or so lucid dreams, you will learn to calm yourself down. ;)

Well done. Remember to never be disconcerted by Sleep Paralysis, in fact you can learn to love it.

Congrats on your lucid dream! Now you know you can do it--and it just gets better from here. With some practice you'll have much longer LDs.
What I do when my lucid dreams start to fade is to rub my hands up my arms. That usually helps. If the visual starts to fade. I just lay still and try to imagine the scene to come back.
Anyway..keep up the good work. :)

Sweet, thanks for all the advice... I'll definitely use all of those tips next time (tonight hopefully).
So with the sleep paralasys thing... does it ever last for a long time and you can't get out of it? How often does it usually happen to you?
