That's exactly what it is, a dream character that helps you with something. It is basically a guy or girl who meets you in almost every lucid dream you have to help you along the way.

A dream guide is exactly what you thought it was. A note though is that it doesn't have to be a person. It can be a dog, a cat, or even a stuffed animal.
Your dream guide is the gatekeeper to your subconscious, or more accurately the personification of the subconscious itself.

-when you find him/her/it how do you recognize it?
-if you ask it if you're dreaming what will they say?
-will they ever say "i'm your dream guide and ill guide you around your subconcious." lol
-what does it help you with? exploring your dream world, learning stuff, does it ever talk about dreaming itself?
1. You ask them if they are your dream guide and if they say yes they might be. Ask a few more questions and if they give answers that don't make any sense then they are a fake, if not they probably are your DG.Quote:

Also, it really depends on the person of what the Dream Guide is like.
Well, about Dream Guides. They are really just work of your subconscious. One random DC may come to you and tell you he/she's your Dream Guide and so it will be. Or, you may even unconsciously choose the appearance of your own Dream Guide while awake, and when you search for him/her in your dreams, he/she'll be exactly how you pictured it.
I myself made my DG a wolf, for example. He's always there when I need comfort, a steady paw, or just some soft fur I can touch to make the dream more vivid. The Dream Guide will do whatever you expect it to. Want it or not, it's a part of you. If you want something from him/her, just ask :) You might even find your Dream Guide knows whatever you want with antecipation. They are the person that knows you best :)
Your Dream Guide is exactly how you expect it to be. So it's just bound to be friendly.
Finally, you may know if they are a Dream Guide if they help you with lucidity. You may even find you have more than one Dream Guide, or just one in different appearances.
