Hello Xray, and :welcome: to Dreamviews!
Your problem is actually a common one among starters. Usually, the idea implicit about Lucid Dreaming gets us so excited that we may wake ourselves up. My main advice would be for you to, upon becoming lucid, stay calm and try to hold onto your dream. Don't get in awe just because you're finally gonna get to jump off a building/etc.
In addition to that, there are quite many techniques for stabilising the dream, and even for prolonguing it. Reality Checking is one of them, but there are more specific ones. The idea is: if you want your dream to get vivid and last for long, you must hold onto it very tight. So, you'll want to do anything that feels very vivid and real in your lucid dream. A few examples are touching a carpet and feeling all the smallest differences in its texture; looking at your hand and trying to see every tiny detail of it; or touching a body of water and noticing how liquid and gelid it feels. These actions will feed your mind with dreamy thoughts, making the dream more cohesive and lasting.
Finally, realise that with time, you'll learn to control your lucids to a great extent. As I say a lot, Lucid Dreaming is much about self-dictation, and only you can learn yourself what works.
I guess that's all. Any doubt, shoot :)

The waking up part can be very frustrating, what I found is good to do, take a second once you get lucid, stop what you are doing and just stare at your hands, calm your thoughts a little, for me it stabalized the dream, and tended to make it so I did not immediatly get all excited.
Happy Dreams!,

People who are new to lucid dreaming haven't conditioned their brains for it yet. It's something new and your brain doesn't know what's going on yet so it panics and wakes you up.
That'll pass, it's like any new thing, your brain is scared at first.
And :welcome: If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you guys for the fast reply, ill try to stare at my hands next time I am able to become lucid
