WilD
So I've been waking up at around 4 the past couple of nights and been trying to do wbtb or wilds.
I dont know what position most people go into wild in but im guessing its on their back. So I've been trying to do that but everytime i lay down on my back i get this kind of high pitched sound in my ears that kind of shocks you into opening your eyes and it happens over and over until i lay on my side which it doesnt do it in. It happens so often i cant lay on my back and sleep because its like my mind is trying to keep me awake, but if i lie on my side it doesnt happen at all, but if i lie on my side it seems like i always miss the wild.
Kind of describe it like someone is having a flashback in a movie and that loud sound comes as they go back to the present.
So if anyone has this happen or knows what it is, can shed some light on it.
Thanks

My first thought is that you might have tinnitus. I have that too, especially when laying down.
It is possible to WILD while lying on your side, it's just easier for some people to do it when laying on their backs.

Wilding is all about being comfortable, some people do hear alot of sounds while experienced HI though, I personally dont get either of them, so cant help ya out sorry...
All i can say is get comfortable, being on your side shouldnt affect your state of mind, you may fall asleep faster because its simply more comfortable, try to stimulate the mind a bit more perhaps?

I was used to always being told to WILD on my back, but last night I did it on my right side (better side for dreaming), and I had 2 LDs, so try different positions.

You can WILD in any position as long as you are nice and comfortable. Have you ever tried to WILD while on your stomach? I've had some really vivid lucid dreams while on my stomach.
Can't help you out with the sounds. I rarely get strange hypnogogic sounds or sensations as I try to WILD. About all I can say is try to get past that annoying noise (easier said than done, I know) but if you can get past that noise maybe you'll find yourself in a lucid dream.

I get HI audio. Usually more than visual images. Voices that are all speaking at the same time, with conversations I've had during the day. It's pretty cool. Now that you mention it Vex Kitten, I remember having a WILD accidentally from my stomach.
