Interesting way to have my first LD

Hi I'm new at lucid dreaming and was about to give up after about a month of keeping a dream journal and reading about lucid dreams.

Well anyways the other day I was really desperate to find a way to have a lucid dream and somebody else told me to try to look up the thread "just pray". At first I didn't think it was going to work but last night I tried it and I got my first lucid dream ever. I don't know if it is just the placebo effect or something else but it worked.

The next thing is that when I found out I was dreaming I remembered about this thread http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...assive+control
it talks about passive control which is the reason my first LD lasted about 10 minutes.

I just said this to maybe help some other people with their lucid dreaming.

Nice, you used the power of pray. To be honest I'm not into that kind of thing so I woudn't really do that, but it's good to know it got you the first LD.

I've heard of prayer induced LDs. I'm not a praying kind of guy, but I can definitely see how it would work. Seems like it could be a combination of autosuggestion, prospective memory and confidence. Or a higher power :D I'm open to the idea.

Hope you have many more to come. Take notes on what you do so you can share your technique with others.

EDIT: What did you do in your dream? Anything fun?

I'm not really the type of guy that would do it either, but if it does work then it's a free,easy, and fast way to induce lucid dreams!

In the beginning I just stayed calm and tried to increase lucidity and then later I tried to fly and to my surprise I flew up very fast and unfortunately I was inside my house and hit the roof :(

What an interesting way to get a lucid dream. I've never tried it myself but I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm ready to give a new technique a try.
