New here.. need help
Hello!
I came accross this topic a few weeks ago and was amazed by how much this has been researched.
I have been trying to lucid dream ever since I came accross this topic but never seem to remember to do so while I am in the dream state. Ironically about 6 years ago (I was 16) there was a period when this came to me naturally. I used to dream every night and I could always control my dreams. It was the best feeling ever, from what I remember. But then I just stopped dreaming for a while (I think) but I seem to have completely lost the ability to stop and realize that I am dreaming.
One of the reasons I am writting this is because I feel that doing this might trigger something the next time I dream.
Any suggestions? Anythign that does not involve writting my dreams down, would be very helpful. Like stuff I can do right before I go to bed.
Thanks!

Well, dream journals help with recall, but if you don't want to write them down maybe you could get a voice recorder? As far as LDing goes, I've found that the way that I've gotten the best LDs have been by being enthusiastic and reading a lot of stuff on LDing about an hour or so before bed, that way you go to sleep with it fresh on your mind. You could also try the WBTB technique, but my sleep schedule is too hectic to get up in the middle of it.

Welcome to Dream Views, Spacekat.
If you've already had lucid dreams, then you know what your goal is, and how exciting it can be.
You should definitely start some kind of dream journal. Either a bedside written journal, or a voice recorder like rose_red suggested. If you are looking for motivation, try starting an online journal:

Once you get a few people reading and commenting on your dreams, you will feel excited about posting them and sharing them. Of course, you can always edit out anything too private. Everyone understands if you don't want to share personal or embarassing dreams.
I like reading other people's awesome lucid dreams for inspiration. There are some incredible dreamers in the DJ section.
