Newbie, not new to LD
Hello everyone,
I am new here but I am not new to lucid dreaming, although I never knew that was what that was until today. I thought everyone can control their dreams like I can.
I started having lucid dreams in my teenage years. I vividly recalled a strange dream where my baby brother died in a motor vehicle accident. I was very upset in the dream and kept trying to tell everyone that he was not dead because " he was still alive before he died " and I absolutely believed in that logic in the dream ! When I woke up I was very relieved that it was only a dream but I was appalled at how on earth could I accept such a weird logic ! So I was determine to revisit the dream so that I could change it. I rehearsed the dream sequence during the day many many times to make sure that I wouldnt forget so that I could dream about it again at night. I dont know where I got the idea that I could recreate the same dream but I had had the same dream repeated in the past so I absolutely believed that it could be done.
I dont recall if it was the next night that I recreated the dream again but I eventually did. The second time I dreamt it I was well aware that I was dreaming, and that I had wanted to dream the same thing so that I could change it. I proceeded to try to change it by getting my baby brother out of the car before it crashed. It didnt work and he died again, but this time I didnt argue with the people that he was still alive, I just thought to myself I had to go back to the dream again some other times. After a few more days, I finally went back in and managed to change it, I moved my baby brother out of the car and he survived. It was sort of weird, because the rest of the dream was still the same, the car still crashed and the people still rushed to the scene, except now my baby brother was safe in my arms.
Since then I have always had lucid dreams and able to control them to various degrees. Last night I dreamt that I was on stage singing, wearing a red dress with loads of diamonds and half way through I decided to change the songs lyrics and I vividly saw myself sitting down rewriting the songs. The hand writing was very real and I remembered when I went back on stage to sing again I could feel my lips moving and my vocal cord vibrating but I was deep asleep of course and I did not make a sound. When I woke up I was still in the dream and the first thing I saw was my alarm clock and I was thinking " Who would put an alarm clock on the stage". It took a couple of minutes for me to realise I had woken up.
I have always thought that everyone can control their dreams like that and I was surprised when I told my friends today that they said they couldnt. I decided to look up lucid dreaming and I found this place.
Please share your thoughts as I am very new to this and would like to know what you think.
Thank you very much and best wishes to everyone.
