yesss???
i am fairly new to the whole LD world, and am very interested in obtaining an LD. I keep a regular log, and recored everything i remember from my dreams. so 2 nights ago i am dreaming and in my dream i am walking with my friend Emi, and we are in a dark park, with many trees around us, then i specificly remember telling her "i wish our friend Gidge were here with us" no more than 5 seconds later, gidge appears on the road in front of us, and we slowly begin walking towards her.
then i woke up : (
was this the beginning of a LD?
and how can i control it more and stay asleep?

hmmm...seems to me like you werent actually lucid.
ask yourself:
Did I Know I Was Dreaming?
if you answer no, or not sure...then you may have not actually had a lucid. You can control things (ie making your friend appear) in NON-LUCID dreams too...the only thing that defines the Lucid dream was whether you knew you were just dreaming. Only you can answer that.
There are a variety of ways to control/stay asleep when you have a proper LD. Look in the dream control section for some tips maybe. If you cant find any, im sure you can ask here again.
Goodluck

Hello, and welcome to Dream Views.
You can make stuff happen or even have god like powers in non lucid dreams. It happens all the time. The beginning of a lucid dream, in my opinion, should be you realizing that you are dreaming.
Next time something coincedental like that happens ask yourself if you're dreaming or do a reality check. Might land you a lucid dream one time.

Like the others said, Being Lucid just means you know your dreaming.
I've had non-lucid dreams where I've had far more control over the dream than in any Lucid.
Sometimes you just know you can do things without being aware your dreaming.
Welcome to Dream Views! And good Luck.:)

what you should have done at that point was a very reliable reality check, even if it looks silly, because you were already pretty sure you were dreaming. There are many ways to keep your dream moving. i managed once to recreate my dream by focusing very hard on the layout around me and seeing it in my mind. however, you really have to have your logical abilities working if you are going to recreate your dream or keep it working. Sometimes you will only have a glimmer that you are dreaming. but if that happens again, you should know what to do. Sorry, but it was not a lucid dream.

I believe we always have dream control, but we don't have the mind to use it if we think it won't do anything. So, you wern't lucid, but you should have been. Do a RC next time you have somthing you ask for to happen.
