      painful awakenings

When I dream I often dream about the same areas, all of which I've never been to. Its like an entire city in my head. Theres a forest and a park and a suburban area and a busy city, a road that leads to the beach, that I can move back and forth across. The most memorable part of my dreams is the landscape of the place, as if I've lived there for hundreds of years, I miss it every morning. Often the subject matter of my dreams is drastically different, but I find myself in that same city. And when I wake up, I feel like I've left reality. Its starting to drive me insane. I feel like everything I do while awake is emotionless and boring.

Things like these are really hard to overcome, I had a really bad reoccuring dream that lasted for maybe three years, but once I started working with lucid dreaming it seemed to stop, I recognize it now and change it before it gets to the more rough part.

I guess my only real suggestion is to try to realize that the dream is in fact a dream, of course this is much easier said then done.
