Good Night !

Hey people .. I found this place through google a long time ago and I'v been lurking off and on since . Trying to go lucid for a while now without success.

I'm in my dream recall stage and trying to maintain a dream journal and do reality checks too.

I have a question , what do you guys use as a reality check ?

I try looking at my hand to find out if I'm dreaming or not , if it's not blurry and everything is in place right then I'm probably not dreaming .. Then I take it from there and try to ask myself here am I ,why am I here and so on ..


What did you guys use as reality checks back in the day ?

The main one I've been using for about a month now is the hand thru palm RC. All you do is try to see if some of your fingers go thru your other hand. Another one I use is the nose plugging RC. Just plug your nose and see if you can breathe.

I use the same reality checks as you. I check my hand, count my fingers, and question my recent memory. I also try to take a second or two to be super aware. Notice everything around me, take a few deep breaths, feel myself in the moment and clear my internal dialogue.

Do you Wake Back To Bed? I think thats the best and easiest thing you can do to increase your chances of lucidity.

I wake up back to bed sometimes , when I have the time .. Usually I need to get ready and go work a job I hate so I can buy shit I don't need .. Well I like to think that's not why I work but I really do need to get ready for my day pretty much as soon as I wake up.

I know this is going to take some real effort , like going to sleep early so I'll have enough time to write my dream and ake back to bed ..

I almost had a FILD last night !! I think ..

I was waking up from a dream , which I forgot btw , then tried to fall back asleep while doing the FILD technic. I as already starting to hear noises and feel kinda weird like the totorial says but I was way too excited this is actually gonna happen that I lost it. Had a real problem going back to sleep .. I fell asleep at the end but lost that consciouse feeling and just had regular sleep. My alarm was set to wake me up every hour or so but I failed in other attempts too ..

When I woke up for good I forgot about my dreams becuase I didn't want to ake up and rite them down as soon as possible , I preferred to try the FILD thing instead.

Dammit.

If i think i might be dreaming i check the light switch, if it doesnt work right you probaly dreaming.

I have problems with FILD and DEILD-type techniques for the same reason. I don't like having to chose between recording a dream or trying to enter a lucid. Its too hard to make that split second decision when I'm all groggy and confused.

I won't bore you guys with lots of details but I did a reality check while dreaming and became lucid !
