hello
Hello everyone. I found this site a few weeks ago and i stared using the reality check techniques, with some success! I have had two lucid dreams, one a few weeks ago and another just the other day. The only problem is that they don't last long at all- not long to even do anything. The first one was probably induced because i had been doing the reading street signs reality check thing about 3 times a day, and ended up dreaming about it, which got me lucid. I promptly decided to fly, it worked, but then things got a little fuzzy and then i went back into having a false awakening. :P
The one i had the other night was triggered by i don't know what, i just realized it was a dream somehow. I immediately thought of using the spinning around technique, to help me stay focused, but i still fell back into a false awakening! strangely enough in my false awakening dream i went and told my sister that i had just had a lucid dream. The same thing happened in the first one i had. I was wondering whether there is a way to prevent false awakenings from happening, or if there are any other ways to keep hold of lucidity once it is attained.

Hey, welcome to Dreamviews! Sounds like you've already had some success, which is great! As for false awakenings, those aren't necessarily a bad thing if you consistently have them. Stability is a great thing for dream control and can be used as a conduit to access lucid dreams.
To learn more about techniques I suggest checking out or tutorial section and/or PM-ing one of our Dreamguide Team members.
Good luck.

Try to do a reality check every time that you wake up, that should help you catch those false awakenings.
Oh and :welcome:
