another newbie
Hiya. I found this website and forum via a Wiki article on lucid dreaming.
I've been a lucid dreamer for as long as I can remember, way before I knew there was such a thing as "lucid dreaming". The "tricks" I'm able to do once inside a dream include being able to drop-out of the action and become a spectator whenever I choose, or to change my own roll within a dream, and either start it all over again, or pick up where I stopped.
I can also change the dream script and outcome if it doesn't suit me. (I'm not able to actually dictate the outcome, ...just able to stop the action and re-play the dream to see if the new, random, ending is better)
A question for other dreamers: One of my pet peeves is waking-up during a great dream. I've found that I can only return to the dream if I lay back down on the same side I awakened on. If I turn over, the dream is gone. And even when I do lay down on the same side, I can't always return to the dream...maybe 80 to 90% of the time. Anyone else have this experience?

Welcome to DV! :D
Yes, the same thing applies to me. If I want to re-enter a dream, I have to lie still without even opening my eyes, or the dream will be gone. But, as long as I don't move, I'm back in the dream within a minute. :)
Feel free to ask if you have more questions!
