Introducing Myself
Hello, I've only found out yesterday that there is a word for the type of dreams I experience. About 95% of my dreams are lucid. I've actually been keeping a dream journal for about a year, but had no idea that some people can have lucid dreams and some can't. I've always taken it for granted that anyone has them since I do. It's actually quite strange when I wake up and think what I was dreaming was real. I usually always know that I'm dreaming and can sometimes control certain aspects of the dream.
I was referred to this site by someone at dreammoods.com and I can't believe there are so many people interested in dreaming as I am. I've started trying to improve my dream recall but absolutely refuse to wake up in the middle of the night to record dreams. I can NEVER fall back to sleep! So If anyone has any suggestions to find a way around this, please let me know.
Thanks, and I look forward to reading about everyone else's dream experiences in the future.

Hello Burns91,
Congrats on joining Dreamviews, I'm sure you will enjoy it here. In terms of falling back asleeep there might be supplements that help you fall back asleep or make you drowsy. Anyone have any ideas on this?
Another suggestion could be to remember all your dreams after you wake up in the morning. Usually you won't forget your dreams that you had earlier if you have a good recall.
Hope this helps. Also there are many people who have just joined who are natural lucid dreamers, if they respond to your post you can PM them with questions.
Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
Good Luck

Hey welcome burns91
Wow! It's great you naturally have lucid dreams. You can contribute a lot to this forum.
How sad, you can't fall back to sleep... maybe you can listen to peaceful music? IDK, hopefully someone else has a better idea :P

Like what lucid said, you can buy some pills that can help you put you back to sleep like a baby. It's called melotonin and i heard its supposed to help lucid dreams to, but you dont need help in that department :D
So yeah, in the morning right when you wake up, just lie there for like 10 minutes and going over your dreams and trying to remember them. Dont force it either, just try it come to you. Just keep going over your dreams and then write them down. I first suggest writing down only key notes for all the dreams so you wont forget anything. After that THEN you can right out the specifics.

Oh great! Another natural! :|
Just kidding! Welcome to DV :okbyenow: It sounds like you're doing quite well already and just have some trouble with control. I, myself, have trouble ataining lucidity, but I might be of some use when it comes to control. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post or PM me or one of the Dream Guides. We're always willing to help, day and (not surprisingly) night.
As to writing down dreams, when you wake up in the middle of the night, just write down a few key words or phrases that will help you remember what happened. If I don't I forget. You don't have to write down details, just enough so you don't forget. Keep your journal and a flashlight close by so you don't have to move too much and there's not too much light to wake you up.

Welcome!
What do you think contributes to your ability to become lucid without even trying? People such as yourself baffle me.

Wow, I'm really surprised that so many people responded with such good ideas. I really appreciate everyone's comments.
I guess I'm not sure how I have such an easy time having lucid dreams. Maybe it's because I'm a very practical and analytical person (I'm a licensed veterinary technician) and know that when something happens that's just not worldy possible, I must be dreaming. And once I know I'm dreaming, it makes it kind of fun because I can wake myself up if I'm having a scary dream or try to keep dreaming if it's a good one.
