Hy,

I'm new but it already looks as if it's a very exciting place here. ^^

Background:
I love dreaming an always could remember loads of dreams, sometimes even 5 different ones a night, I guess that's every single REM-state. When I first heard of lucid dreaming I thought this must be fascinating, but I also wasn't sure if it truly was possible. However, it didn't seem too far from possible, so I started searching for information, even bought a book about it and quickly realised, that I actually had prelucid dreams very often, I just didn't know what that was and always thought I'm watching a film while dreaming. xD
I sometimes even changed things in my dreams, it just seemed normal to me so I never bothered about it.
It didn't take too long for me to get a lucid dream; I had tried it a few times and then it was just there. First I was so excited that I woke up after a few seconds, the second dream (which I had got that night) didn't last much longer, but it already was much clearer and felt even more real than the first one.

This leads me to a few questions:

1)
In my dream I have been watching TV when I realised that I was dreaming. As soon as I was sure the TV gave out, there was just a white noise left. Did that happen because my or the brain in general is not able to produce two different plot lines synchronistically (the events in the TV and the things I am doing)?

2)
Why is there this barrier, that tries to wake you up? It's as if some invisible force is pushing you out a door.

3)
Lucid dreaming is easier in the morning, right?

4)
Controlling dreams should not be possible if you even can't stay in your dreams for a while I guess, but actually I did it several times within a few seconds. o_O

5)
Is it possible to lose touch with reality? Like confusing dream an reality and not knowing which was real and which not. Could one damage ones mind?

It happened beacause you let it happen. In your dream you could be juggling 10 balls while watching 50 different movies on 50 different Tv's if you wanted. :)

In my experience, yes. You are not in deep sleep so your brain is a bit more alert.

Dream control and lucidity are two different things. I often have non-lucid dreams where i can control everything, and still i dont become lucid.

I suppose its possible to get confused of your current state while in a dream, but i doubt it could happen for more than a few seconds in reality. Damage to the mind? That is a question that often comes up.
For me and everyone at dreamviews, i can say that we would all agree that it is completly safe. There are natural lucid dreamers here, who have lucid dreams every night and it has always been that way for them. They are not insane, well...most of them anyway, xD

So this means not everything's under control in your dream, even if you want it to be. I actually didn't think the TV would do anything at all, it just did. xD

This could easily be true, I already expected having troubles to keep the dream, because I was thrown out at my first lucid dream. I think I wasn't fully asleep the first time and I know that I woke because of my heartbeat. The joy of actually having a lucid dream was too much and that I wanted to do so many things at once. *lol*

This means I'd got two different states at once? o_O
I knew that I was dreaming and I knew that I could control everything now if I just wanted to, so I just did. I teleported myself, went to a disco (lol), even controlled a person I never ever have seen before.

Another question: Is it dangerous to interact with dreamcharacters? Some people tend to say it is, at least while you are asleep, because they would try to hurt you. My DC (the one which i controlled) did nothing to me.
I read a book about lucid dreams and it says one should be aware of what one wants; if a dream is not poled it might turn against one. It's maybe that what makes DCs dangerous sometimes?

If I met people in my lucid dream, who constantly told me that this was a real world, I most likely would start to question the real world thinking they could be right. Feels too much like Matrix. *shudders* o_O
But I guess this varies from person to person. (I hope so...).
