any tips for midnight motivation?
Hey all, i've sort of been reading the forums, but i was a tad shy about registering
I was looking in the feedback section, (dont have any idea why, apart from bordem) and in one of the topics someone mentioned all the people like me should stop being shy and participate. So thats what i'm doing!
I already had my first lucid dream a couple of weeks ago, it was great. Thanks heaps to dreamviews!
At the moment my goals are to not be one of those annoying noobs that you seem to hate, :-P and to continue to be motivated. Also i'm practising sketching/anime because its fun :P
I've been following some of the techniques i've read in here, and i've decided not to worry about lucidity for a while. What i want to work on is writing down my dreams in the night. It gets a bit frustrating because i have no problem waking myself up naturally after most dreams, but then i convince myself that i'd rather just go back to sleep. Then in the mornings i regret not writing them down, and then i eventually forget them.
I guess its sort of a motivation problem, but in the middle of the night its hard to think rationally.
Does anyone have any specific things they do to stay motivated at night?

As long as you realize that, you wont be annoying to us. Also as you know, post whoring with one syllable words in each post will irk us(so you other noobs, heed my warning) ;)

Im going to tell you what i told some other guy the other day...cant really remember who though(i blame it on my lack of sleep so dont be mad at me ok you person(maybe it was turkeh or LDguy..hmm..) Motivate yourself with your favorite food or something delicious. Like ice cream. tell yourself to get up so you can reward yourself with ice cream, then write down your dreams. Use any other food. You could also do the same with your favorite tv show(record it, but dont watch it and tell yourself the only way you can watch it is by waking up at whatever time you want) you can use anything really, but try to reward yourself with something. humans like presents=fact
Ciao my new born friend :okbyenow:

Ha! you sound just like me! Anyways what I do is have the paper you're going to write you dream on ready (just make things like Title: Characters: Discription:)
Put -BRIEF- explinations of every key aspect of that dream, and when yo uare ready to join the wake life for good you can decide wether or not you want to write down the whole thing in your journal. I find it that you shouldent obsese over writing them down becasue it may lower LD efficiency; but thats jsut me, lately I stoped writing them down (be sure you -CAN ALWAYS- remember that nights dream though.
