From what I've read, when you become lucid it's as real as you make it.
Given that the sights, feelings, audio, and tastes are all of your own creation (if you mean to create them or not) it can
reportedly feel as if it is more vivid then waking life.

I have to keep up with the RC's, its so easy to forget them, and yet they're an important key to becoming lucid... I'm so looking forward to my first real LD

The really realistic LDs are amazing. No way to describe it, other than more real than reality.
When I was a newbie, the revelation was good too. Right after you become lucid. For a second it felt like I have achieved enlightenment and knew everything there was to know. Ofcourse a second later it becomes clear to you that it's just a dream. It felt great anyway.

I am so excited!!! But I know being that way will lead you to a 10 second LD. :( Also, I am somewhat afraid even though I know it's just a dream... I don't know why.
depends on whether you have a really quality LD. i've had a few little crappy LDs, and only once have i actually made a change. mostly i've been just kind of aware of it, and once i went skiing over this super steep hill, which was totlly awesome, and once i made everyone dissapear.lately, i've managed to be lucid for a couple seconds at the very end of my dream. exciting.
I'm doing it with FILD
Feelings in lucid dreams are much more different than feelings in real life. You feel much more within yourself. That place within your head feels like YOU. But your senses are somehow biased. It is pretty hard to describe it accurately, but you will soon find out yourself.
Your feelings within a dream are multplied {at least in first attempts}, when you are not used to that state. I can clearly remember, when i had my first lucid dream with superb clarity. It was like a heaven. I couldnt believe in my eyes. The whole world is constructed within. Thats trully something i would only recommend.
SO enjoy yourl learning. Somehow it is even more fun than lucid dreaming itself :D

Focus your mind on simple task. Calm it. Prepare it to do one single think. To be aware while you are asleep. One simple think separates your from being lucid.
1. Calm down
2. Sit down
3. Take one sentence and repeat it with as much mental pressure as you can
4. Believe that sentence
5. You increase chances for lucid dream rapidly

Awesome. I wonder how long it will be. Maybe it will be so short that I can't do a reality check :( But maybe, (unlikely) I'll have a really long one!!
Having your first lucid dream is definitely an experience. People usually get over excited to the point where it doesn't last longer than 15 seconds. Happened to me, and probably loads of others here on these forums. If you don't get lucid at first, don't give up, simply knowing LDs exist greatly increases your chance to randomly become lucid during a normal dream. Even if you've given up and think it's impossible, you will still eventually have a lucid dream.
As far as how a lucid feels, its incredible. Your sight is not limited to the vision you have (if you need glasses, you won't need them in a dream). Your hearing is not limited to how well you can hear. You can feel, smell, taste, see, and hear everything. I still find lucid dreaming exciting.
Oh, and when you wake up you feel like you've acomplished something. Which I suppose you have. And its a cool feeling. The only feeling of regret you'll have is wishing you would've done something more exciting or went to visit some random place, etc. But you'll always have more lucids eventually.
And I'll finally be able to have bubble gum with braces :P Too bad it didn't work last night... ok, maybe I was to afraid of something. I don't know what I'm afraid of. I know it will be just a dream.
Actually, there are several levels that I have come across, on a 1 to 5 scale.
0-No lucidness, just an average dream
1-No lucidness, except directly at the end when you wake up, does no good
2-Somewhat lucid, no change in dream
3-Lucid, Make small changes in dream, such as walking around
4-Lucid, Can fly, walk through walls, etc....
5-Lucid, Can do 3 and 4, and can get objects in the dream
It feels really cool in the dream, but when you wake up, it feels somewhat fuzzy, like it happened but didnt happen, or at least it is for me, then I start doubting that it was really lucid.
Today I started to try WILD on my couch and I felt the tingly-ness but it went up to my face and my nose had felt like I just dived into water and it got in my nose. Then i had to get up from the pain in my nose :pissed: I couldn't believe it! I was at the eye popping part too!!!
OMG I just found the easiest way to LD!!! "WILD Breathing method" where you focus on your breathing until you "teleport" into the "Dream world"

Well, Mew, you certainly sound dedicated, at least for now. If it lasts, and reality checks become a true habit, you might get there.
I was worried and expectant about a lot of aspects too, like... the dream dragging me along at such a pace that I never was able to stop for an RC... or if I got so used to counting five fingers in the waking world that I would just naturally count five fingers while asleep.
As for the first... well, I still intend to try and train myself to RC more often, and in almost any given situation (if I can get away with it without looking crazy). As for the second, my only DILD would teach me that it's not that important. The act of checking for me in that one DILD was enough to trigger some kind of mental link to the thoughts of lucid dreaming, and thus I became lucid.
I hope I helped at least a little.
I know this is probably different from person to person. But to me, when I awake into a lucid dream (mine always occur with a false awakening), I feel heavy and kinda drunk. I find it very hard to lift myself out of bed, and kinda stumble a little bit.
Just last night I had a mini LD, about 30 seconds. It occured after a rather short nightmare, and a series of 5 false awakenings. The first 4 where just vivid, no control over my actions really. I just kept waking up in my bed, and talking to my son, or petting a family pet laying with me that I no longer have. I guess these things just triggered my mind that I was dreaming, and I would force my eyes open to another FA(back in my bed).
After 4 of these I could conciously tell I was still dreaming, and instead of forcing myself awake, I thought to myself screw it I'm gonna have some fun with this. I forced myself to sit up out of my bed, which was quite hard, I felt like I weighed 500 pounds. I kinda staggered my way towards my bedroom door, paying no attention to my dog laying in the doorway (who I haven't seen in years). As I was walking I thought to myself I need to try to make an object, something simple. Then I did it. I held out the palm of my hand, which was covered in black spots and appeared like it had a flashlight pointed down on it, and concentrated on forming a pyramid on it. It had just started to materialize, then I woke up, for real this time.
I was so pissed. I never made it out of my room. I wanted to make it out of my house, cause that's when things get real interesting. I love LDing. It used to scare the hell out of me when I was a kid, because I had no idea what was happening, and noone believed me.
More than a month passed and I still haven't had a LD. :(
dont worry just stick to it and you will get an LD just be confident about yourself and believe that you can have an Ld and alsso ive figured out by just repeating "1.I will remember to recognize that i am dreaming" "2.I will remember to recognize that i am dreaming" it seems to wrk but i havent had a LD everytime i wake up at the transition stage :angry:
Dont give up man. Im telling you, a lucid dream is worth every bit of effort that you put in it. You have no idea of what you're in for, they are just incredible, especially your first... There's nothing like your first LD. So keep up the work, you'll be glad that you did.
Do the breathing method, but...and this is key...do not try to WILD as soon as you go to bed. That only works in the early afternoon since you go straight into REM sleep when you go to sleep in the early afternoon. Use the WBTB method and then do the breathing technique. Your WILD should be a success.

EDIT: I have to say this and make sure that you do it: never lose hope or give up. I tried constantly for a few days and was so frustrated when I got nowhere. In fact, my recall actually crashed. But I didn't give up, and then...BOOM. My first LD (it was a DILD). It was an awesome experience, I was so happy. So remember: don't give up. Maybe WILDing isn't your thing. Don't give up, just try DILD instead. :)
