Lucid Inducing for Begginers

Hello i am making this thread to help newbies to Lucid dreaming acheive there lucid dreams.

Over the past 5 months i have been doing WBTB everyday of the week, i have had a few lucid dreams this way but the waking up is now starting to take a effect on my overall health, so over the last 2 weeks i have started to get into DILD as it requires no waking up, i rarely get DILD's by itself so i looke don the forum for Lucid mp3's. These are the steps i took which i think have had a great effect as i get lucid almost everynight with this method, but it may be different for everyone so please post you results.

Step1: Everyday make sure you do reality checks, the reality with the most effect i think is the one where you squeeze your nose and try to breath, only do a reality check when you see things which are out of place or look dreamy, for instance if you saw something in your room which you think shouldn't be there, do a reality check.
Doing this everyday will get your brain in the habit of doing a reality check everytime you see something out of place, and of course everything is out of place in a dream. Well almost anything....

Step2: Go to bed really really tired, so you are on the brink of falling asleep,
and listen fully to this mp3

Make sure you do not fall asleep whilst listening to it. *important*

Step3: By this time you are really wanting to fall asleep, but don't, start listening to this mp3 for about 15 minutes.

You should now feel very tired and wanting to go to sleep badly.

Step4: Now lay in bed with your eyes closed and relax, tell yourself mentally that you will become aware when you enter a dream, repeat this about 5 times and really mean what your saying, but don't will it, don't say it desperatly.

Now go to sleep and think about what you will do when you become lucid.

This technique was made by me after i decided to try DILD, on the first night trying i managed to remember 4 vivid dreams and i had one Low level lucid, as i did this everynight i recorded the same results everyday almost.

But be warned as i said before this was made by me and that means it might not work for everyone else, so don't expect to get Lucid just because i did.

And finally remember to keep a dream journal, this is very important as it tells your sub concious how serious you are in getting Lucid.

Also when listening try to listen with headphones, but don't listen to it loudly only loud enough that it makes you not sleep and not keep you awake too much.

I think I'm overloading myself with techniques... I went right into it trying to WBTB WILD, DILD, DEILD, FILD and everything else while moderately trying to keep a dream journal. I think I'm just going to focus on doing this and keep a strong dream journal.

Is it important to listen to the second mp3 15 mins after or can it be shorter

It can be shorter, anything which feels right for you but not over 15 minutes.

For me its been very good getting me lucid most nights....

Tried it last night. I had slept like for 3 hours about 4 hours previous to going to sleep so I think that effected my ability to sleep. I sleep on my side so the fact that the headphones jab into my ear doesn't help. I'll try again tonight and make sure I'm tired when I go to sleep.

You don't listen while sleeping. Listen take out headphones, sleep.

I downloaded some Brainwave-something from torrents, but it didnt work for me, there were 2 of them, one had a guy talking, which made me unable to sleep, and the other just had music, which was kinda freaky, but i got used to it, but didnt help at all.

So yeah, i'll try it and post my results. :D hopefully be my first LD ^_^

Just keep trying everyday, its pretty much a 50/50 chance you will LD, it worked first time for me when i had never tried DILD before...

i only have about ten dreams in my dream jurnel but more than half involve my house when it shouldnt so i got in the habbit of reality checks whenever i enter or leave the house is this a good idea

ok i wanted to make sure i wasnt wastin my time and ill try this technique tonight

My dreams most nights involve my bestfriend (about 80% of the time I'd say haha). What would be a good approach to using this to help me get lucid?

hey tried the technique last night

long story short every hting that could have gone wrong short of physical harm did

i was about to finish the second mp3 and was in a daze and my dad came in and turned it off

so i start it over now when i get to about 10 minuets in the second one my Dad starts snoring but it dose sound like he is snoreing it sounds like he is choking so i get up to make sure hes ok and start the things over again

then it got realy hot in my room so i turned the ac started it over

i livein a old house so about at the end of the first one the wondow starts rattling like hell so i stuck a phone in it

i listen to both and begin to drift off when my mom comes in and wakes me up to help with the yard sale


so i got no lucid dream no dream no sleep


well tonite should be very good for trying it again and do you have to stop the second one befor 15 minuets or can you go to sleep while listening?? or let in run itself out?

You can listen for less than 15 min, but dont fall asleep with it playing, make sure you thinking about LDing is the last thing you think about before you sleep.

I am prepared to try this but I must sat that I'm a little confused by your method. The mp3's you submitted are supposed to trigger EILD's as it clearly says on the original post that had these mp3's submitted. Ninja9578 says in that post:

"These are designed to be listened to while you are sleeping, you can have them loop all night or have something turn them on at a certain time when you are in REM."

So why should we not listen to them as we are sleeping? I'm just curious, I'm not questioning your method in any way :lol:

With the order its played in it will embed messages in your subconcious and relax your mind, i find EILD is a waste because it messes with your lding with brain waves that confuse your mind whilst asleep.

Nothing last night...>.< But part of that was my fault, I don't think I was tired enough andmy mind kept wandering, and on top of that, I could here my brother playing WoW in the background while I was lsitening to the tracks...>.> I'm going to try again tonight.

i tried this twice
First time i dont no what hapend because i coulden rember my dream, usually i can remeber my dreams very well even without a jornal.

second time is worked but in the dream when i go the slightest hint that i was dreaming all the noises from the mp3 came all at once and woke me up
(i still think it works thogh that was probabley an off chance)

I tried something like this, well it comes close actually. I listend to the Ultimate Lucid Induction, and then the Lucid Remix.

I listened to the whole thing for the 1st one.
and
The 2nd one I listened to it for about 10 min.

* Of what I remember *

I had 3 dreams, 1 being a lucid. But the lucid was very very short.

Before I became lucid I was sort've watching my dream from above, then I went zoom! Right into my body, and I knew I was lucid.

But somebody was holding me from behind, I couldn't move, so I tried to escape from them, but I couldn't, but I was lucid. I was trying to fight my way out, of the thing's reach, or whatever it was. I couldn't escape.

I didn't even read this, when before I did that, I just listened to these, and had 3 dreams, 1 being lucid. I'm going to do this again tonight.

**Oh and I should mention when I did this I did it with earphones, not headphones. And I wasn't really really tired how dreamhope11 says too**

I tried this out last night and it worked a treat I had the best lucid dreams I have ever had since starting on this path so thank you very much ;-))

Hi first let me thank you for writting this tutorial ^_^

well I am new at LD but the last 2 nights I tried I think It helped me to remember more than I usually can, I usually just remember li pictures of my dreams but after traing this
I am starting to see my dreams as some sort of videos and last night I become lucid like only for a couple of seconds but thats more tha I usually are anyway :p.

Well I tried this method, had a very very strange dream and I had also set an alarm this morning to try and WILD but I was rediculously tired and kind of gave up after 30 seconds or couldn't stay concious long enough. So i'm not quite sure if it worked or not.

Im glad it works for some. As i said this does not guarantee a lucid it only increases the chance of having one. Good Luck

I actually found this method with the mp3s to induce my second or third ever lucid dream. They have all been similar, however. I will try to describe.

I usually am dreaming quite vividly, but not yet lucidly, and I wake up, and recall my dream, moving my thoughts to think 'oh damn, I forgot to become lucid.' But then as I drift back off to sleep, I start dreaming again pretty much straight away and this time do realise I am dreaming. Each time I've just started flying. Yet it doesn't last for more than a few seconds because it just doesn't 'feel' real, so I 'decide' it isn't working and just wake up. It feels somewhat forced.

So my plan is to try and induce lucidity before waking up, and I assume this will involve getting into regular reality checks. Also next time I have a similar scenario, I will try and 'stay' in the dream, despite how unrealistic it feels, and perhaps try to do something other than flying, which seems to be a kind of reflex decision...

To sum up; I have only ever noticed lucidity AFTER waking up in the morning and then going back to sleep. Anyone had similar experiences?

rhubarb: Well I do know that that's probably because you interrupted your REM cycle. Waking up in the morning would increase your chance at becoming lucid.
