This forum will open up wonderful possibilities for me.

Hey everyone,

I found this website yesterday and I have been immersing myself in all the posts. What an amazing forum!

I've had lucid dreams since I was a child. I remember being in a nightmare where I was being chased by a bear and it suddenly occured to me that I was dreaming. So I stopped running, turned to the bear and said, "Okay, I'm not playing anymore." To my happy surprise, the bear replied, "Aw come on, it's so much fun." Then he turned around and went home with his head hung in disappointment. This was the first time I clearly controlled a dream. I might have been around 8.

Throughout my teen years, I controlled my dreams so that I was a princess from the planet venus (in a parallel universe). I had powers of flying, telekinesis and teleportation. I battled men from the planet Mars and was usually victorious. Every time I would find myself in a nightmare, I would remind myself that I am the Venusian princess and in that way I would take control of my dream.

As I've gotten older, my dreams have become less lucid, so I am very, very happy to find a site full of thoughtful people dedicated to lucidity.

I know I will learn a lot form this forum and I hope to be able to help out others in my journey.

Being Princess of Venus sounds like fun. Since you have some experience you might want to check out our Task of the Year and Task of the Month.

I never thought of myself as a natural. Cool.

I tried doing FILD yesterday and failed miserably.

Maybe I can do it without trying a specific technique? We'll see.

See the "Quote" button with two plus signs?

Click on the one on each post you want to quote and then hit "Reply." Works much better than multiposting

I see a quote button with one plus sign, not two.

Am I multiposting? I thought I was quoting.

edited to add: Never mind. I see the two quote signs. What does that do exactly?

It lets you select multiple quotes. Click it so that it is red, and click as many as you want. Then click "AddReply" (not "quickReply").
