No, it doesn't happen for everyone. From what I've seen SP is usually not a negative experience for those who seek it out. They'll just be paralyzed and feel some strange (not necessarily unpleasant) sensations with no fear or hallucinations or anything.
I have felt SP quite a few times now, the first couple of times it seemed unpleasant but that changed and now I actually quite enjoy SP. I would not call it a negative experience from what I have felt, nor would I associate SP with terror.
Like the post above says, not everybody experiences the same thing though, however there is nothing to be scared of, this have a bring it on attitude and remember that nothing can happen
It happens every single night, just now your conscious while it is happening.
Believe me... you shouldn't be afraid :) It's not that bad. When I had my 1st SP I just heard a beeping/buzz noise and couldn't move... my thoughts were "OMG why can't I move? Oooo nice feeling... where is that sound coming from?". I didn't opened my eyes because I couldn't so I can't tell if I am hallucinating in a SP... to be honest SPs are kinda cool to experience! So don't be afraid... I was afraid too ( a lot ) but now I want more!!!
i just now had experienced my first sp. it scared hell out of me but i didnt get any hallucinations. the first couple times it may be scary just because you cant move.
I have heard some people say SP can feel like your blanket turns to lead, which is interesting because i used to have what i thought were nightmares a hell of a lot when i was a kid where that happened, and i became paralized. Although then i had nothing to compare it to and experienced it as frightening, if only i knew then what i know now.
I think thats part of the reason i lost the ability, i had flying dreams when i was a kid where i knew it was a dream, and when having nightmares i would also know it was a dream, yet did not know about dream control.
thanks for all the advice... will keep muddling on, hopefully will achieve lucidity soon...
