New to the community
Hello all, I stumbled across this forum a couple of months ago and have ever since been fascinated with lucid dreaming. I've lurked around the forum for a while, taking in all the brilliant wisdom that passes through here but today for some reason felt compelled to register and become a member.
I've been keeping a dream journal for for well over a month with amazing results. Even becoming lucid twice! (despite waking up due to excitement ).
On both occasions i think i fell into the trap of the "Amazing i'm lucid! What can i do now?!?" attitude, and tried a bit too hard.
The second time around i tried rubbing my hands together to stabilize the dream but with no luck.
Has anyone got any advice?
I'm aware there are lots of threads like this but i felt some personal advice would hit home a bit harder.
btw, i've just realized! on both occasions of becoming lucid i was under threat (being chased or whatever). Not sure if this would contribute to not being able to stabilize correctly.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to DV!
I recently discovered that focusing on the details of a small part of the dream really helps me stay in the dream (for an example, the lucid part of this dream ). It can be really annoying to have everything in the dream all vague and unstable, but when I hang in there long enough for that one small part to come into focus, I usually find that when I look around at everything else, it's more clear and detailed too. It's also a good idea to think of something to do before going to sleep so you'll know what to do once you're lucid and the dream is stable. (The task of the month is a good place to get ideas, and the thread for the August task of the month should be here soon.) Exploring while lucid is fun too :)
