hey
Hi,
Im new. I’ve had lucid dreams for as long as I can remember. I didn’t even know there was a special name for those dreams until just recently.
I have a couple questions to begin with. First, most of the time my LDs are DILDs, but there have been a few recent cases where I would be falling asleep as usual, and then I would hit SP and suddenly become aware. Then a dream will form around me. This usually happens very quickly, and the total time from when I become aware of SP to being in a dream would usually be less then 30 seconds. Is this WILD? I don’t think it’s DILD because im not in a dream while recognizing im dreaming, but I’m not sure if its WILD either because I don’t go from being fully awake to being in a dream with no lapse in consciousness, I only regain consciousness while in the SP stage. If it’s WILD, would they be more vivid if I start out fully awake?
Another small issue, I can never seem to make things or DCs just appear or find a door and open it as a portal to a place I want to go. And I know exactly what Im doing wrong. I have doubts in the back of my head. And I can’t help but think “this BETTER work.” I know that is something I need to change, but my question is, how? HOW can you practice to get yourself to just KNOW things will work?
Thanks in advance :)

hi, i'm new too! i'm having the exact same problem as you are when it comes to dream control. i always try to "summon" certain people, i tell myself they're going to be in the next room i enter, and that has never once worked for me. after it didn't work the first time, i guess i got discouraged, because i always sort of doubt it will work when i try it. which is obviously my problem, but, just like you said, i don't know how to get myself to be completely confident that i'm in control of things.

Really sorry about bumping this but does anyone have any advice on how to boost confidence that your are in control of things in a LD? Thanks :)
And btw I dont think just telling myself i am in control 1000 times will do anything. I need advice on how to get rid of those doubts in the back of my head that what I am trying to do in a LD will work.
Thanks again and sorry to bump this.
