Hey everybody! I'm new, any tips?

I was told about lucid dreaming by a friend and I looked it up and now I can't stop until I get one:P Anyways, I've been keeping a dream journal, doing reality checks every once in a while, and can keep record of at least 1 or 2 dreams a night, my most being 6. My dreams are always different, sometimes I revisit locations but rarely. The main method I've been trying is WILD and 2/3 times I've tried it, I manage to see hynagogic imagery. Everytime I do get into this, I wake up up and am completely not tired at all and my whole body feels weird. Any way to prevent this? I've tried waking up to try it but I just hit off my alarm clock. As for the other methods, I'm just starting those mainly today. Also, when I wake up in the morning, I am usually VERY tired and take naps right after I wake up. Example: I woke up at 9 this morning and at 9:05ish I took a 1 hour nap. I did that about 3 times. So I remember having 3 dreams. Occasionally, I've been taking diphenhydramine, 50 mg, as a sleep aid but it does NOTHING, I actually have no dreams when I take these. Should I take B complex which has 50mg of B6 in it? Also, any tips for going lucid with WILD (other than doing WBTB?). If you read through all this, thanks.

First of all :welcome: to Dream Views!

A few things. WILD is HARD, be happy with your current progress. Try not to focus on the images but just kind of passively notice them, until you get deeper into SP.

Sleep aids KILL your recall, so don't bother.

I don't know much about supplements, so don't ask me. :P

forget about the B6! Who came up with these ideas anyways.

A good normal diet will have enough of the "b5" you need for dreams.

Take 5htp (or melatonin if you cant get the 5-htp) before bed

...and then at 4 am take 8mg galantamine and 400 choline bitrate (a form of vitamin b)

stay awake, lying in bed for about a half hour, then attempt to wild. If you dont succeed dont even worry in the slightest, you will DILD for sure.


With this pack I guarantee a lucid dream!!!!!!

If you can't wake up in the morning in order to WILD because you turn your alarm clock off right away, it makes sense that you should move your alarm clock further away, or set two alarm clocks, or do anything else you can think of to make it so you can't turn off your alarm clock before it wakes you up completely.

I keep hearing about melatonin, how many mg should I take?

So...All these people that say B6 work is it just mind over matter, or is B6 just much better?

Also, when trying to MILD is it? It's pretty much just telling yourself over and over "I'm going to remember to recognize I'm dreaming" and paying attention to that, right? Is this an easier method for beginners?

But then my brother wakes up and bitches at me for a whole week, I usually need 2 alarm clocks placed far away in my room just to get up normally. I wish there was a wrist watch that could kind of zap me like one of those "prank gum" packs or something of the sort... :goes to mod a watch:

There's a lot of cheap soundless ways to wake up. You could set an electric blanket on a timer, so that it gets too hot to sleep and you have to get out of bed to unplug it. You could set a cellphone alarm on vibrate, and tape it inside your pillow. You could not drink anything awhile before bed, so you're thirsty enough that you have to get up in the middle of the night to get a drink, or drink a lot, so you have to get up to use the bathroom.

Or, you could buy your brother some cheap earplugs, and then he'd have no excuse to complain.

Just go for the DILD. That's what I do. :P You don't have to do anything difficult or confusing. It's very convenient.

Cool, I figured I would and told my self "I'm gonna recognize I'm dreaming when I'm asleep." for 5 or 10 minutes before I fell asleep and after about 5 dreams, my last one, something of mine got stolen and then I was panicking for a second when I just told myself, "Nah, it's OK, I'm just in a dream anyways." Then I was lucid for like 3 seconds before I found myself back in the hotel room I was sleeping in. I hope it's the first of many :boogie::D
