Was I Lucid?
Okay, I've been reading up on Lucid for the past couple days and I've been doing reality checks every now and then but I havn't officially started my training or what ever you call it yet. But this morning I had this dream and everything was all black around me. I realised I was dreaming and I'm like oh my god I'm lucid so I tried jumping or something I think but I can't remember what happened. And then I was thinking to myself if I open my eyes I will be awake and I'm pretty sure I'm awake right now but my eyes are just closed. So I opened my eyes and I was awake. So I don't know if I was just waking up and my eyes were closed or if I was like partially lucid.

Remember that for a dream to be under the "lucid" category would mean that one was aware that they are dreaming. that's all. don't worry about not being able to control some things. the whole thing with controlling things and changing things in your dream are simply skills you acquire as a lucid dreamer--it takes practice. there are diffrent kinds/levels of lucidity for that reason.
I think you definitely had a lucid dream, but you doubted yourself when you were officially awake. that's the thing about being lucid, you become "awake" in the dream. i think you did great with being able to think of your eyes and then fully wake up! that's the whole thing with being conscious :)
that's an awesome start man.

It really is exciting isn't it? It's so different than "regular" dreaming, and you'll never forget the experience. Being consciously aware that you are watching a dream is so overwhelmingly unforgettable . Now, remember that you will be able to not only watch, but can even participate on a conscious level what is in the dream. Ask questions, explore the environment.
May you be blessed with many more!

I didn't start my lucid dream count until i was 100% sure that i was lucid. By proving my lucidity i took steps... Went outside my waking boundaries and challenged everything around me. For me? Its as simple as pushing over some glass that doesn't break or doesn't make the right sound when it breaks. Best thing i can tell you at this point is, keep trying! You may have been lucid but not having control is a big setback. Learning the right skills necessary to control your dreams is the key to efficient lucid dreaming.
