for me i've only had WILDs and DILDs i've never looked into any other methods, DILDs are just random but i usually have a lot of them, i've had way more DILDs but i've only attempted WILD once and i was successful my first attempt, so really if i tried to WILD every night i'd say i'd have more success with WILDs although most of the times my DILDs are extremely vivid, out of WILD and DILD, WILD would be the fastest to get working, in my opinion
I have always had success with DILD, and I tried WILD once with terrifying results. Try WILD with an open mind, and read the directions....you should succeed.
They speak the truth. DILDs and WILDs are definitely your best bet. DILDs might take a while b/c you have to have good recall and learn your dreamsigns (which Im finally getting better at). But you cant go wrong w/ a WILD that is done correctly.;)
My personal favorite when I have plenty of time to sleep(summer time/weekends) is just a plain WBTB. I get great results from it
WILDing for me. Feels cool even when you fail.
The best technique is the one that gets you lucid. :D
It's not so much about one technique over another, but it's about finding out what will help you to realize that you are in a dream, whether that be through dream signs (DILD), going from a waking state to a dream state (WILD), or anything else. I'd suggest looking through the induction methods in the tutorials and picking one out that looks like it could work for you. Try it for at least a week before moving on to something else.
Just remember, though. Don't get stressed out if you don't become lucid right away. For some they'll know they're dreaming the night they come to DV, and for others, it'll take weeks, months, and I know some who are still working on becoming lucid. As long as you stick with it and don't give up, you'll become lucid. :) Stress works against you when it comes to dreams, so just relax and enjoy it.
Oh, and if you haven't started writing your dreams down, that's a good start, especially if you have a hard time remembering them. Practice will make it so that when you do become lucid, you'll remember it!
in my opinion "your best technique" is a continual search. You can try following tutorial/guides as written, but sooner or later you will have to "tune" them to meet your on needs.
Besides DILDs, I usually MILD wilst trying to WILD. This covers me both ways, although Im currently trying to improve my MILD.
