Beginning to LD...
Hello there, I am new to these forums and have read all about LD
and the ways on how to achieve it on the main page, Just curious
besides doing Reality Checks is there any other way to induce LD?
maybe by telling your self something as you begin to fall asleep
Or does anyone else LD without doing RC's?
Thanks a bunch -

Welcome ot DV MUFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reality checks didn't help me that much, but everyone is different. What REALLY helped me was keeping a dream journal. It helped with dream recall as well as frequency of LDs. Also, if I don't get enough sleep, I'll have trouble. So then I'll make up for it by sleeping late or taking a nap, and end up having the most intense and vivid LDs ever.
So there's my 2 bits.

Hi MuFu!
Have you given our tutorial section a look yet? There are about as many ways to become lucid as there are different people.
Ophelia is right though, a dream journal is the best place to start.
I generally don't need to do reality checks anymore. Most of the time when I am lucid, I know it.
I rely on reality checks when I am not 100% sure it is a dream and am about to try something dangerous like jumping off a building.

Thanks for the replies! Yeah Ive known about Lucid dreaming for
quite some time now, being that a friend of mine claimed he was able to
I always thought it seemed to far fetched but it was late one night and I
decided to see if there was anything else on it I could read, and I stumbled
upon this site!
I tried the Dream Recall part of the Main page ~
"To be able to eventually control your dreams you’re going to have to focus your intent on doing so. Therefore a better method of recalling your dreams is to focus your intent on remembering them before falling asleep"
I did this the first night and was surprised to find that I rembered about 3 of the dreams I had, so I quickly wrote them down ive read more about Lucid dreaming and the idea of RC's seems a little silly to me which is why I had asked if there were any other ways to induce LD's, but if that is a sure fire way then I suppose I should try it.
Anyway thanks for the warm welcome, look forward to posting here more often :D

WELCOME MUFU!!!
As Seeker said, it is best if you check out out tutorials to find several other methods to become lucid. I suggest you try them all out in order to find out which one suits you best...
