Talking Hello everyone! Care to welcome a wolf to the board?

Yes, I know it's a bit of a strange question, but one with a long story behind it. Hehe.

Anyway, I'm new to the board, and to the whole LD experience, but not really to the concept or action itself.

Lucid dreaming first became something of an interest to me when a friend of mine was going through trials in his life. He would see and hear things and night, and I decided to try to help him. In my research, I came across information about hypnagogic hallucinations (which I thought might be the answer, but it turned out not to be so), and from there, lucid dreaming.

It became something of an interest specifically because I can recall having induced lucid dreams often during childhood in order to combat nightmares. When I was younger, probably five or six years of age, I constantly had nightmares of a particular kind. As I got older, these could become more intense or more gruesome, and I grew tired of it. So I started fighting back. When certain dreams would repeat, I became aware of them and began to avoid certain situations within. More than that, I eventually began to turn around and fight whatever was after me, and amazingly, I found that I rarely have had a nightmare since, and when I have, they have been far less disturbing.

Being a writer, I am still interested in furthering what LD experience I have, for the specific reason that I would like to be able to enter the worlds that exist within my mind and interact with them, attaining just enough lucidity to control myself and to keep the environment itself in-tact.

Beside this, I thought this might be an interesting place to just learn more about LD and about sleep in general, so I signed up.

A lot of information, I know, but I hope you'll read, and I hope I get a warm welcome.

The banana shall now dance in DV's honor!

Welcome! You've come to the right place for tons of information and support on your journey.
“Not all lucid dreams are useful but they all have a sense of wonder about them. If you must sleep through a third of your life, why should you sleep through your dreams, too?” ~Stephen LaBerge, Ph.D

Hey there. I've only been here for a couple of days myself. Seems quite informative.
