My confusion is that if I am in SP and I try to move my finger or arm, will I snap out of SP or will I not be able to move it and still be in SP?

I'm new here also, and fairly new to lucid dreaming (2 or so months, max). I've had my first few LD's on the same night, about a week or so ago.
I've never been in SP before (not that I know of, hence the confusion). I've always thought I might have gotten it, but maybe not...so yeah...Confusion.
I've had many times when I begin to feel numb and tingley all around my body. Hands and feet are usually the first. I know people often talk about tingleyness or shakes and such, but having never experienced it, it's hard for me to know when I do the first time.
I basically just wanted a way to "for sure" know I'm in SP. The reason I wish to know is, of course, WILDing =] =] =]. Also I want to go into SP just to know how it feels; it sounds truly amazing.
If you are in sleep paralysis you won't be able to move your arm at all. If it's tingly and almost paralyzed, twitching it slightly should put it into full paralysis.

For me SP has always been mainly not being able to move At all.
If you wake up in the middle of the night and cant move, thats SP. Doesn't have to be a tingling or shakes. Thats SP, not being able to move.
For me i've had a little of all the 3.
Sometimes i just cant move, sometimes im tingling( or i was sitting on my leg or arm too long), or i get the shakes and i feel like i'm dieing or something. Which sucks.
But honestly, if you obtain SP, you'll know it. Its like nothing else. But lucid dreaming is much better then the SP. the SP for me just seems to be a gateway to lucid dreaming. If i go into SP, then i know i can lucid dream from that as long as i don't fall completely asleep.
Okay well i hope that helps some, and if anyone has anything elseto add or correct to what i said feel free too :)

Best thing to do i think, in my own experience.
Try to wake up your self in the middle of the night.
Wake up 3 - 4 hours after you goto sleep. If you goto sleep at 11 at night try getting up around 3, set your alarm or something.
Wake up for a little while, move around get on the computer, go drink water ect. Wait up a little while.
Then go lay back down, but don't try going to sleep. Just clear your mind of any thoughts, relax your whole body, don't put any effort into thinking.
Try and just look into your mind.
Normally when i do this, images just start appearing, and after a little while i start LD'ing.
Happens all the time, long as i'm not too tired.
I think LD'ing is more of not trying to lucid dream. If you try to much it doesn't happen.
If you let go and let your sub conscious take over, normally for me, i start to get images which i didn't make. Its almost like theres a another person living inside my head.
Yeah currently I'm trying to find a good time to WBTB and WILD. You can read about it here if you want. I don't really want to get into all, but I think I'm onto something where I can DILD everynight and WILD (hopefully) every morning.
