Strange sensation

Hey guys, I just found out about this site around 4 minutes ago. I'm not sleeping tonight, mainly because today is homecoming and I have freshmen to frosh. Previously I had an interest for astral projection and lucid dreaming. I had some success, such as feeling like I'm floating, hearing static and voices, and feeling my consciousness being pulled forward as if I've been sucked into some sort of infinite tumble (which feels very nice). Over the years I kind of gave up on it, but sometimes while I'm trying to get to sleep I have this strange feeling. It feels as if my third eye (my center of thought) is rapidly expanding in scope, it's really weird, it's as if my physical vision and my brain vision are melding together. This isn't as bad compared to the other feeling I get though. It feels like my consciousness is tethered to a rope on my body, and my consciousness is being flung across space in really random patterns. I begin to lose grip on what my body is feeling, and it feels A LOT like I'm going to collapse into my self, which is when I freak out and open my eyes.

Does anybody have any experiences similar to this or any insight as to what this is?

This sounds like SP to me.

I've had some really weird SP. Sometimes it feels like my consciousness is connected to my head by a thin thread and it is getting sucked up into the air. Sometimes it feels like I'm swinging around on a tire swing in big circles. Sometimes it feels like I'm being dragged off of my bed by my brain. All weird stuff, but all SP.

Could be OBE. I know wht you mean with the infinite tumble feeling, it's nice. I'd say that, unless you begin to feel that your mind or body is being harmed, you should try not to wake up and see what happens. Maybe you can project yourself out.
