Hello, I am quite new to this site, although I'm not exactly new to LD. It used to happen all the time when I was in my teens, but I had slowly lost the ability to control what happened in my dreams after I had a nightmare. :whyohwhy:
I had become fully lucid in the dream, and I felt normal. Everything was vivid as usual, and I had only slight problems taking off for flight (I was a bit wobbly, but it happened every so often, so I didn't think anything of it). I was on my way to anywhere as I planned what I was going to do, when all of a sudden, I was in a tunnel, with no exit at the back and bars at my head. It closed in on me, so I bent the steel bars and flew out thinking, "Oh, well that was strange!". :eh:
Then, It happened again...only this time, the bars weren't bendable. I employed heat-vision to melt them this time, only mildly worried. As the dream went on, I encountered more traps. Each new one was more sinister than the last. I had to dig, melt, bend, teleport, and think my way out of each of them as the tunnel eventually was consistently around me and the bars were now just appearing in front of me as soon as I got through the last one. I eventually started to panic, and I was fighting for my life (or so I thought, really I was fighting for control...and struggling).:eek:
Eventually I forced a false awakening because I was too frightened and frustrated to continue, and the nightmare began again, only this time things started right as I got out of bed. I must have had 15 false awakenings like this, only to be trapped in the same dream over and over again. I eventually woke up though; just as soon as I gave up and stopped fighting.
I hadn't yet heard the term lucid dream until I asked a friend why I couldn't control my dreams anymore, to which he responded, "You can't control your dreams!". He later saw the term lucid dream online and pointed me toward some resources. I only read some definitions and was shocked to learn that it doesn't happen to everybody!
Recently, I was browsing the web and did a search on LD and was amazed to find a site called Lucidipedia. I had a journal on there, and suddenly the site just stopped working :poof:(maybe they didn't pay the bill? Oh well!) I stumbled upon this site 3 days ago and I am quite a bit happier with it already (I'm still going to keep a journal on my laptop jic because I can't retrieve the dreams I've posted to that site now :whyohwhy:)
Ever since the nightmare, I have had some recurring nightmares/dreams, some with continuity, some just repeats. I hope to write some in my dream journal, and I hope to eventually become fully lucid again.
