Nothings happening
Hi everyone. I'm new here and would like some advise.
I have experienced a number of naturally occurring LDs over the years. My last two, about a month ago.
I would like to have more LDs and so I purchased galantamine 4mg choline 200mg.
I took my first pill last week, after sleeping for 5 hours, then returning to sleep, but nothing happened. I waited 3 nights and tried again, nothing happened, then I took one 2 nights ago and nothing happened. I mean absolutely nothing.
Does anyone think I should try again tonight, or is it too soon, (48 hours) and should I maybe double the dose. I've read such great reports about galantamine, but really, I'm not experiencing anything out of the norm. I'm beginning to wonder if it's me. I even ate 3 bananas before going to sleep as I understand vitamin B6 can aid lucidity, but, yep, you guessed it... nothing.
What's going on? I'm really frustrated, or maybe I just expected too much.

If this drug helps people who don't get natural LDs......
Maybe it harms those who do?
You're probably just trying to hard and stressing out....

Mmmm, never thought of that. I am not really stressing though. I just pop the pill and sleep. Thank's for replying.

That's not really natural LDing. It's just a random one. If you would be natural you would never have a non-lucid dream. My advice is don't take drugs and just do it the way you're supposed to.

Well, I used to have a lucid dream once every 6 weeks, then that faded away. I guess I have about 6 a year now.
My last was 2LDs in the space of a week. The dreams were the most lucid I have ever experienced, in so much as I was in complete control. Usually, once I realised I was lucid, I would go flying round, having fun, but these last ones were different. They had such an impact on me, that I just wanted to experience more, that's when I learned about galantamine. I only got the pills last week, so all previous LDs were natural.
I was tempted to take another pill last night, but didn't. However, I read the thread on this forum about drinking apple juice, mid sleep cycle, and thought, okay, I'll try that, so tonight I will be downing a carton of apple juice. Then I thought, why not swallow a galantamine pill along with the juice. So my next question is, does anyone see any harm in that?
Whatever happens, I'll pop back later, probably in the morning, and let you know what, if anything, happened.
I guess I'm beginning to sound desperate, but really, I'm quite relaxed and simply trying to find a way to LD. It's no big deal if my effort fails. I know I will have more LDs in the future. I don't see any harm in encouraging them.
Thank's for your time Eric, if you read this, would you care to comment?

Welcome, Gluk.
I take GM occasionally. Maybe once a month. I think I have the 8mg caps, and they seem to always do...something to my dreams. In my experience, you still need the basic lucid dreaming fundamentals to become lucid from GM. You need good dream recall, trained awareness, and a handle on your sleep schedule.
I wouldn't take it more than once a week at the most. It seems people develop a tolerance for it quickly. I would spend a week using traditional lucid dreaming methods, then try to include the GM in the process.
If you need specific help with how and when to take the GM, we can figure it out. Its a little different for everyone.

Thank's for your input. Well, last night I swallowed a galantamine with a glass of apple juice and I did have a lucid dream. This is the first LD with the aid of a supplement. To be honest, it was a sureal experience, more like being on a 'trip' than in a controlled dream environment. Everything seemed speeded up and while I was aware that I was dreaming, the scenery kept switching, which made me feel less in control than I would have liked. It wasn't an unpleasant experience, there were such vivid colours. I found myself in a really beautiful room which I was admiring, then I noticed a T.V and there was an even nicer room being shown on the screen, so I dived through the T.V to get into that room. All too trippy for my liking. So, I will continue to try and become lucid, but I think I will leave out the supplements. Also, I woke with a hung over feeling and headache. I'm glad I tried though.
