A surprisingly typical first experience
Hi,
I've known about lucid dreaming for quite a while. My 9-year old son is a lucid dreamer.
I've got no training or dream journals, but for years I've noticed some of my (what I now know to be) dream signs, particularly I always try to read any writing in my dreams and it always turns out to be a bunch of confused letters. This usually wakes me up though. I poked around a bit and it seems this is fairly typical.
A few times I've been able to control flying, but I didn't know I was dreaming until I woke up. Looks like flying is typical, too.
Last night I had my first what I could all completely lucid dream. I'd woken up at 4:15am after about 5 hours of sleep and had trouble falling asleep again. This is rare for me, but apparently typical or common for LDs.
I'll spare you the details, but I was able to intentionally dream up a sex partner. Again, typical.
When I woke up, I checked myself and appeared to have had a wet dream. I was telling my real life partner about my LD, when I noticed she had four breasts, and realized I was still in an LD. Again a small amount of searching shows this kind of false awakening is typical or common.
How strange it is to be so typical!
