False awakening problems
Hi,
I like the idea of lucid dreaming and have done it serveral times in the past.
I am thinking of trying in ernest to do it again.
However, once before I had a false awakening when lucid dreaming in that I opened my eyes and saw my room, but my brain must have not woken properly as I had a very scray image of my cuboard handle changing into a knife and flying towards my face. I then woke up proberly still looking at the same cuboard, now in its true state.
My worry is that I sleep with my partner now, and that if I do lucid dreaming am I in anyway in any danger of harming her due to me halucinating that she is something else?

First, you need to seriously re-read what a lucid dream is, then we'll (or least I'll) be glad to help.

Just reality check every time that you wake up.
If you see something scary happening, and you react to it, well, you'll be dreaming, so what harm could come to your partner?
Once you wake up for real, and she's doing something scary, she probably deserves it hahaha
I think you are confused about the definition of a False Awakening, as opposed to the sort of REM hallucinations that can persist after sleep. What exactly is it that you're talking about, here?
