You've come to the right place! Start with this post for tips on getting started with lucid dreaming. Also check out the acronym list here, so you'll know what everyone is talking about.
alright, thank you
once when i was younger i had a lucid dream but it was only to stop a nightmare. i was being chased by a killer and he shot my arm and i was imagining the pain and once i figured that out i thought " hey this is my dream i can do whatever i want " and i chaged the dream but thats the only lucid dream ive ever had.
Cool! I love the feeling of, "Wait, this is a dream!" ^^ It is SO much better, though, when you know that you can change or do whatever you want on a whim. Anyway, welcome to dreamviews and I hope you enjoy your stay! We are always happy to have new members. Once you familiarize yourself with the forums, you might want to check out the tutorials sections for a whole list of cool methods to gain lucidity. (Though I recommend the DILD for just starting, you can't plan when you are going to have a lucid dream with that method, but it is the easiest way.)
Well good luck!

Read the tutorials, figure out which method is best for you (I recommend MILD and WBTB for beginners.)
