Question.
Hi, well how to start. Could anyone explain to me what's happening. Usually 15min after i lay down i go into a dream state, sometimes it appears fantasy sometimes more real then you and I. Anyways what happens about 5 days outta the week is i'll eventually realize i'm in a dream but i cant wake up, it scares me a little but i've gotten used to it seeing it has happened my whole life. Back to the story i cant wake myself up, i can see myself from inside of my body, i can feel my limbs moving just slightly as i try to move them but it's like they're dead. Eventually the dream end's, it differs on times, i've had it last hours. When i wake up i'm extremely light headed tingly all over and the inside of my head feel's like it's on fire. Most of the times these dreams are of the bad sort, like i said i've gotten used to them so i dont mind that it much. I've even had some that have felt soo real that it affected my body, scratches scars etc. Also i remember what happens in nearly all of these dreams.
Thanks,
Just curious.

Welcome to the board. You most likely cannot move, because your brain disables your spinal cord while you enter REM sleep. Consider yourself lucky you can remember almost all of these dreams, as some of us here are still trying to get that down. As for the rest, maybe you're having an emotional distress in life? When you dream, your pineal gland in the center of your brain lactates a hallucinogenic substance called DMT. So, I like to consider dreaming like a drug trip experience, and if you're not mentally at peace with yourself, you're going to have a bad trip...or in this case bad dream. Am I getting at anything?

no, only the normal worries, bills etc. Still pretty wierd when it happens so much a week. As far as the trip aspect i agree, i've had good and bad trips from drugs.

Welcome, Chris!
You are what is called a natural LDer. You become lucid, (aware that you are dreaming,) naturally.
What you are experiencing is called sleep paralysis. This thing called serotonin or something paralyzes you when you sleep. Some people's bodies interpret that in thier sleep and it paralyzes you within the dream.
This can be a blessing in disguise!
Rather than learn how to wake yourself up, here we might be able to teach you how to control those dreams and 'unparalyze yourself.' When your dreaming, your body isn't actually paralyzed. There is no chemical running athrough your dream self's nervous system. Alluding to the matrix, 'Just realize that there is no spoon.'
Once you come to this realization whilst in a lucid dream, with enough willpower and confidence, (along with a few dreaming techniques,) you should be able to control your dreams and move freely. Imagine the night being not something to fear but a time when you can experience all of your fantasies and daydreams!
Anyway, welcome to the board and I greatly encourage you to pursue lucid dreaming especially since you already have the stuff in you as a natural.

I've been able to control dreams before after i realized i was dreaming, just little things though, such as jumping around like gravity doesnt exist. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
