Losing power
Hi everyone! As you can see I'm new here.
I'd like to ask about something. Before, I used to have Lucid Dreams often. Not sure how often, but no matter. In them, I had total control over every detail, and it was very godlike. I liked it.
But now, not only am I having lucid dreams a lot less (about 1 every 2 months) when I do have them, I'm, well, weak. It requires massive amounts of concentration to change anything, flight becomes difficult, and harming characters in my dreams is laughable. Worst of all, I cannot "spawn" objects or people anymore (never was the best at it, but at least I could).
If anyone had this before, what can be the problem? I know a lot of things can influence it, but any ideas? Any help is, well, helpful.

A dry spell? Dunno what causes them, stress? School, so busy with other things?

Dear Masterofdreams!
I think that I have found an answer to your question on the site for dream interpretation. Here is the link to the forum topic where I have found this answer:

I wish you to start getting Lucid Dreams again as soon as possible!
Sincerely yours:

How long ago are you talking about? Years or months? If you are talking about when you were a young child, lucid dreaming actally seems to be more natural to children, so it could be part of growing up. Something you'll have to re-learn.
However, if this is just a recent change it probably is a dry spell. Most LDers have them from time to time due to stress, poor health, sleeping problems, or a lack of focus.

Wow thanks you guys. I was getting worried that I'll never LD again. I have been under considerable stress lately, so I assume thats the cause.

You can try meditating before you go to sleep, or if that isn't your thing, then at least do some sort of quiet activity, like reading. I guess this doesn't apply to everyone, but I'm assuming that watching television before sleep might overload the senses, which might reduce the likelihood of lucid dreaming. Also, it's good to keep in mind that you never really "control" a dream, but rather, you direct it. You can choose to fly over New York City, for example, but what you find there doesn't manifest from conscious choice. Maybe this will help you let go a little bit, and hopefully increase your chances of lucidity. Good luck.

Dear Administrators!
Please excuse me that I have not full understood the rules of this Forum (I am new to using Forums and may be this is the problem). From now on, I will post links to this site only if I quote it as a source of information connected with questions recently posed in this forum (because I do not want to violate the copyright of the site's owners).
Thank you very much for your understanding!
Respectfully yours,

I'm not sure if this is what you mean,
But if you mean when you were a lot younger, well,
In my personal experience I found lucid dreaming incredibly easy.
I could make fireballs and fly and all that jazz,
But as you get older, I suppose you lose the natural ability of it.
You just have to practice & stop doubting yourself, I think.
When you're convinced you cant really do it anymore, then your dreams will continue in that fashion...You might have trouble still cause of the doubt but you'll probably be able to get back to your old Lucid Dreaming ways.

You may also want to try other methods of control.
You where implementing what is called forced control. Another method that may work better for you, (this helps alot of dreamers having the same problem as yourself,) is passive control.
You can read about it here.

Maybe that helps. Either way, I wish you many fruitful lucids.
