Please Someone Help Me

Guess ill start by introducing myself, my name is Frankie I'm 21 and I'm from Miami. I've always had an interest in anything metaphysical and spirituality.

Now to the good stuff..

Guys I need your help. I knew lucid dreaming existed and was very possible. After watching a good amount of my favorite movies (Stay, Waking Life, etc.) I decided to try for myself. I've read a lot and been trying for the past week. Well finally tonight is happened. Guys and to be honest with you I'm a grown ass man and right now I got all the lights on, I'm afraid of going back to sleep.

Firstly this wasn't like it happened once it happened several times, and I awoke after each dream. To go back into the 'lucid dream' state didn't take an hour of concentration it took seconds and no concentration. I felt like I was just falling into it almost. That's why I'm so scared now, I had such bad things happen, Ill recant the three worst ones...

1st Dream
I'm driving along a very congested part of Miami and I see the left lane starts to back up so I switch over to the right. I'm going possibly 80mph. Then I notice that in this lane the same situation is happening so I jump over one more time to the right, the final lane. Once again I can see that this lane is also backed up so I think "screw it gotta deal with traffic I guess". At which point I attempt to hit the brakes only thing the brakes don't work. I'm maybe 30 ft from the car in front and I don't want to kill them so I jump into the side of the road which is leading me straight in to a bunch of palm trees. I say to myself out loud "I'm dead" close my eyes and wait for the bang but it never comes. I open my eyes and I'm going through the trees without injury but I look in front and I can see more trees and I freak out and wake up.

2nd Dream
This time I'm aware and in control. Good right? Wrong. I'm going along what seems to be like a "It's a Small World" ride at Disney and I'm cracking up at all the puppets and pictures. When I notice one pink elephant looking at mean as hell and I point him out and I'm like "what's your problem" At which point the ride I'm in crashes into like a wooden horse toy thing and I crack it in half. I look around and I'm in my baby brothers room. And he's pisst, 'you broke my horse', I was like 'I'm sorry'. So he jumps back into his bed to go to sleep and I lay down next to him but he's like 'no room hit the floor'. I do but when I'm laying down he looks over at me and says 'no Frankie, don't go to sleep'. At this point I was still aware but I didn't have control. I ignored him and did so... Next thing I know I'm on the floor still but now I can't control myself. I can get up, I can't wake up. I'm screaming but only moans are coming out. I can only compare it to like a night terror that your mind wakes up but not your body. My dad comes into the room and picks me up and says 'drugs huh' I'm trying to explain no but nothing comes out. I awoke screaming.

Interesting thing here. I use to have work at night and would sleep in the day. For some reason I would have crazy dreams during the day, and I would awake into what I can only describe as my body is physically awake but I'm still dreaming. I've walked out of my room into the kitchen following my dream.

3rd Dream
I fell into in seconds after having a dream where my best friends were telling people have stayed stuck doing what I was doing. When I fell into it again I felt like "vrooooVooooVOOOOMMMMMM" sound coming my way I just woke up in terror and my exact words were "F*** THIS!".

I'm scared guys, what do I do? I don't want to go to sleep to have something as intense like that happen again. Did I unlock something I can't go back on? How do I control it, like complete control? Did I do something wrong in the process of getting into it? I've done plenty LSD and Shrooms in my life in search of spiritual journeys, does that have anything to do with it? Please I'll appreciate any help given. Thank you for your time and advice.

Hey dude, sorry to hear that you're going through such fear
Sounds like you're a bit of a natural with wake induced LDs, maybe because of your day sleep in the past.

In my opinion, you weren't fully in control/lucid, otherwise you wouldn't have been so fearful at things - as they aren't real, etc.
IMO, you just need to work on dream control - which is really just about belief and expectation.

One quick trick that could help you - make things easier to believe in your dreams. For example, it's not a natural sensation to fly. So if you want to fly, your subconscious (for lack of a better word) struggles to believe it.
But if you gave your subconscious a good reason why it WILL work... for example, you just swallowed a pill, or put on a jetpack ... it'll be a lot easier.
You can apply that sort of logic to anything you do in a dream, but be aware that it's all just a trick and it all boils down to expecting things to happen and believing that they will.
It takes practice for some to get the hang of it :)

But another thing that came to mind... if you had to ask yourself honestly, what do you think your subconscious thinks of you controlling and being aware in dreams?
Do you think it might be angry or annoyed?

If so, that could be your problem - your deep-seated perception of how 'right' lucid dreaming is :)

Man thanks a lot Placebo, you're mad smart friend cause that last part made perfect sense. I come from a family that is highly highly religious. A family where anything like "this" is automatically written of into Demon worship, (I kid you not). Eventually I grew up and out of it and set out to find my own truth. But I think that just might be it because you gotta think for a good 15 years everyday of my life was... "demon, Satan, evil". In fact I had the same feeling last night that I did when I started having sex with girls which was guilt and fear. And at the time I couldn't explain because I know I love sex, but subconsciously I felt like I was doing something wrong. I guess I'm to have to man up and train myself to move forward sorta like what I did with sex. Again thanks a lot man, it makes sense now.

You'll need to teach yourself not to have guilt over lucid dreaming .. affirmations & self-hypnosis may help. I have my own method of self hypnosis that I used to use, if you want. But I suspect you might think of self-hypnosis as evil as well .. ?

At the very least, just spend time every day telling yourself that lucid dreaming is wholesome and fun .. or something along those lines
It sinks in slowly :)

BTW, don't tell yourself 'lucid dreaming isn't evil'. Remember that your mind has to think of evil to understand 'not evil' and it also opens the suggestion that it is.
You want to get rid of any idea of it being evil, so talk in positive terms - 'wholesome', 'beneficial', those sorts of things
