      Question Recording Dreams...

I understand the Dream Journal and why I will need one, but is it possible if I only record the last dream I have before I wake up instead of waking up throughout the night? Being in school, I need as much sleep as possible...

      Would this be acceptable?

Its acceptable sure, but you won't have as many dreams. I was in the same predicament. It won't help your dream recall as much, but will help some.

Just try to write down a little bit of everything from all of the dreams you may have had the night before. Every bit helps!

I'm your right-hand man but my schemes are left handed. I've got the world on my shoulders, a monkey on my back, my head in the clouds, and my ear to the ground. I've got stars in my eyes, my eyes on the prize, and my nose to the grindstone. A baby face, a glass jaw, a dirty mouth, a harelip, a silver tongue, and a deep throat.

i started a dream journal a week ago with the intention of just recording dreams in the morning. i remember about 2 dreams when i wake up.
but going to sleep i think about lucid dreaming etc. and somtimes i wake up in the night unintentionaly when dreams finish, and i record dreams then also.
i dont purposfuly set an alarm, and when i do wake up in the night i get back to sleep within about 10 minuets ish, so im not really loosing much sleep.

so to answere your question, you dont need to purposfully wake yourself up in the night, but if you really want yo remember your dreams/ be aware of them, you might wake up in the night anyway

Here is the bottom line: If you write down the dreams you can remember when you wake up, your mind will start to learn that you want to keep that information. The more you write down to the best of your recall, the more dreams you will be able to remember as time goes on
